🔦 Employee Spot Light 🔦

Today we are recognizing our operator/ assembler Mark.

Mark worked at UNC Charlotte for 30 years and retired last year.

He came to work for us March of this year.

3 things we appreciate about him:
1. He embraces the use of AI to improve processes and learn new things.

3. He is always looking for the next project or shop improvement to tackle and help make a better, more efficient shop.

When asked what he enjoys about his job his response was: The daily challenges, always something new, and trying to keep Jonah on task.

3 things he enjoys doing outside of work:
1. Playing music @ Chris Marks Band
2. Spending time with family
3. Being outside

🔦 Employee Spot Light 🔦

Today we are recognizing our Lead Laser/Press Brake operator/ assembler Rhett.

Rhett previously worked as an electrician. He has been with us for 3 years this year. He took a chance on us by being our first employee that wasn’t family and has stuck with us ever since!

3 things we appreciate about him:
1. He is willing to do anything needed around the shop from laser operating to mechanic work and all things in between.
2. From growing up on a farm he can tackle all sorts of projects with little oversight.
3. He doesn’t complain when Jonah gives him a task, and then 5 minutes later asks him to do something else that became more important.

When asked what he enjoys about his job his response was: seeing the end product you work hard for and the environment of being with people that are like family not coworkers.

3 things he enjoys doing outside of work:
1. Farming
2. Working on projects
3. Being with family and friends

If he could have any job it would be:
Farming full time, or exactly what he does now. He enjoys each day and that’s the most important part.

Fun fact: Roy loves to come watch Rhett drive the forklift and work.

🔦 Employee Spot Light 🔦

Today we are recognizing our lead machinist Allen.

He joined our team October of 2025.

He graduated from machining school in 2019 and has been working as a machinist for 7 years and came to join our team a year ago.

3 things we appreciate about him:

1. He can take a 3D model and print and machine a complete finished part.

2. The knowledge of the industry he has learned at other shops that he brings to our team.

3. He can run the machining department while Jonah is out quoting, meeting customers, or on the road.

When asked what he enjoys about his job his response was:
I enjoy the small group of workers and being apart of building something from the ground up.

3 things he enjoys doing outside of work:
1. Drag racing
2. Serving in the Awana ministry
3. Coaching youth football

If he could have any job:
It would be teaching the next generation of machinist at the community collage.

These are the men that get it done day in and day out.

From machining, laser cutting, engraving part numbers to full assemblies we are thankful to have a team that does their part to get the job done.

What’s up guys! I just wanted to take a minute and make an introduction post!

My name is Jonah Morgan, and I am the owner of Rolling Hills Manufacturing formerly known as Rolling Hills Tech. I have been married to my wonderful wife Alyssa for 5 years, and we have a son who is 1 along with our first baby a black lab who is almost 5 and is our shop dog.

I started this business in June of 2020 with no idea where it would lead us. We have grown and learned a lot in the past 5 years and are continuing to do so.

We started this shop with an old Bridgeport mill, a plasma table, a 33 ton Baliegh press brake and a small miller welder.

Today we have 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling capabilities along with a 2 axis CNC lathe in our machining department. We have also upgraded to a 5’ x 10’ 3KW fiber laser and a 220 ton 10’ wide CNC Press brake with various welders with MIG, TIG, and Stick capabilities.

We have served a variety of industries and customers over the last 5.5 years and are always looking to grow and serve new industries.

When I am not in the shop you will find me spending time with my family, camping, grilling and smoking meat, traveling, and enjoying this life the Lord has blessed me with.
