About a year ago Ohio State reached out to us to help them get this 720 foot section of 24in pipe cleaned out. It was absolutely packed full of roots. After some trial and error we finally reached the decision (that we knew pretty quickly needed to happen, but were trying to keep from) of needing to clear out a path of about 300’ of woods in order to dig down and access the pipe halfway, and then later for a crew to have access to put a liner in the pipe to keep from these roots growing back in.

This culvert presented numerous challenges, initially believed to be 4ft tall, but ultimately measuring 6ft with a spring-fed creek constantly flowing through it, requiring a lane closure on a busy 2-lane road. Approximately 50 yards of dense sand/clay were removed, and each morning we needed to pump out around 20,000gal of water.
