The P. Agnes team is wrapping up a major mechanical infrastructure upgrade at Jefferson Health – Washington Township!

Working in an active healthcare environment requires careful coordination, especially when heavy rigging and critical utility cutovers are involved. One of the biggest challenges was a 72-hour weekend shutdown to install a new 40,000 CFM air handler. The unit was picked and placed in eight separate sections, with our team coordinating the work from start to finish.

The project included:
- Critical Power: Installing an emergency generator directly adjacent to the active Emergency Department, requiring careful coordination to avoid disrupting ongoing operations.
- Air & Cooling: Replacing existing systems with two cooling towers and two DX units, along with modifications to the complex steel dunnage supporting the new air handler.
- Building Envelope: Completing roofing work to support the new equipment installations.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible field crew, trade partners, and healthcare team for pushing through a fast-paced, around-the-clock weekend schedule to deliver this important infrastructure upgrade safely and on time!

We’re excited to highlight the renovation of the University of Pennsylvania locker room facilities, which serve Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey, and Baseball, along with the addition of a new Visitors Locker Room. The Hollenback Locker Room Renovation brought modern, functional spaces to student-athletes and visiting teams, including new lockers, restrooms, showers, flooring, painting, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, electrical, and accessories.

Originally built in 1924 as a power plant, the building now serves as an important part of Penn’s athletic facilities. During the project, the facility also supported multiple FIFA World Cup teams utilizing the adjacent fields for practices.

P. Agnes is proud of our continued work with the University of Pennsylvania.

P. Agnes recently completed an emergency department renovation at Riddle Hospital. This renovation expanded the waiting room to accommodate more patients, added new triage rooms and patient restrooms, created dedicated staff spaces, installed a new CT scan room, converted existing treatment rooms into behavioral health spaces, and introduced a secure entrance vestibule with weapon detection technology.

With the emergency department remaining fully operational throughout construction, the project was completed in carefully planned phases. Multiple utility shutdowns, including electrical, medical gas, plumbing, HVAC, and nurse call systems, were strategically coordinated to minimize disruptions and maintain a safe, efficient environment for patients and staff.

At P. Agnes, we are honored to serve as the Construction Manager for the AtlantiCare Meadows Pavilion Vertical Expansion Project, a transformative investment that will enhance healthcare for patients and families throughout Southern New Jersey.

This ambitious $75M project added three new floors to the existing Meadows Pavilion at the AtlantiCare Mainland Campus, transforming the wing into a 100-bed, all-private room facility. These modern spaces will improve the patient experience while supporting AtlantiCare's commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Each private room is equipped with smart technology that integrates clinical information and empowers patients to control entertainment, temperature, and dining preferences through voice activation or touchscreen monitors. The expansion also includes in-room digital whiteboards synced with the medical record, dialysis access at the bedside, and ceiling-mounted lifts in select rooms to support patient mobility, among other features designed to enhance the overall care experience.

Healthcare construction presents unique challenges, requiring meticulous planning, seamless coordination, and an unwavering commitment to safety while allowing critical hospital operations to continue uninterrupted. P. Agnes Inc. recently completed Phase 1 of the TJU 3M/3T Renovation, transforming a portion of 17,500 sf of decommissioned space within Jefferson's Main and Thompson buildings into a new Medical/Surgical Unit.

This phase delivered 12 new patient rooms, with the full project ultimately providing 30 patient rooms and associated support spaces. As Philadelphia continues and prepares to host major events this summer, including the World Cup, America's 250th anniversary celebration, and the MLB All-Star Game, additional patient capacity is more important than ever.

We're proud to partner with Jefferson Health in expanding access to care and supporting the region's healthcare infrastructure when it is needed most.

Over a 12-month period, P. Agnes Inc. completed the work at 101 N. 33rd Street, located at the prominent corner of 33rd and Arch Streets on Drexel University's campus.

Drexel University's Academic Building was in critical need of façade restoration, and our scope included brick repointing, terra cotta replacement, brick coating removal, caulking, steel angle replacement, lead T installation, capital replacement, second-floor cornice reconstruction, and header stone replacement.

This project delivered significant structural and aesthetic improvements to a key academic building at the heart of the Drexel campus, helping preserve its integrity and appearance for years to come!
