Innovation was on full display in New York City yesterday. Evonik participated in the Carbon to Value (C2V) Initiative’s Year 5 Final Showcase, which featured startups with cutting-edge carbontech solutions to capture, convert, and sequester CO₂ into valuable products and services.

Attendees explored advancements such as modular systems that transform emissions into methanol, subsurface technologies for CO₂ sequestration, and processes that convert carbon waste into high-value materials. The event fostered lively discussions and collaboration, underscoring Evonik's commitment to sustainability and driving progress in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies.

“This event is a great opportunity for Evonik to connect with startups and industry leaders,” said Mika Shiramizu, Director of RD&I for North America. “It showcases how partnerships can accelerate innovation and commercialization, helping us collectively address climate challenges.”

At Evonik, we are proud to celebrate the contributions and cultures of our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander colleagues during AANHPI Heritage Month.

Throughout the month, Evonik sites across North America hosted engaging events organized by the Asian Pacific Islanders Represent at Evonik (ASPIRE) Employee Resource Group—which is dedicated to fostering inclusion, education, and community.

At our Piscataway, N.J., headquarters, employees came together for an in-person celebration featuring fun activities and a variety of food inspired by different cultures. ASPIRE also hosted Dr. Sarah-SoonLing Blackburn for a thought-provoking workshop on “Histories of Racism & Coalition Building,” where participants explored the role of solidarity in shaping history and strengthening diverse communities today.

“This month is a powerful opportunity to honor the many backgrounds and experiences of the AANHPI community,” says Neona Wong, Communications Lead for ASPIRE. “When we celebrate and learn from each other’s heritage, we build understanding, inclusion, and teamwork—values that drive innovation and growth at Evonik.”
