Progress continues at the House in the Horseshoe State Historic Site in Moore County. The framing is now complete, and sitework is underway as the new visitor center takes shape. The facility will serve as the gateway to the historic Alston House. This project is part of America 250 NC celebration, honoring the site’s revolutionary era history and the 1781 skirmish that took place between Whigs and Tories under the command of David Fanning. Project completion is anticipated in early 2027.

Construction continues on the new Mary Ann Brittain Education Center at the Prairie Ridge Ecostation, a diverse 38-acre greenspace within the City of Raleigh that has been transformed into a thriving Piedmont prairie habitat. The welcome center will provide 2,000 SF of offices, restrooms, and education spaces to the site. The facility will also serve as the gateway to the unique landscape at Prairie Ridge, connecting visitors to the existing trail system, native plant garden, and arboretum. We’re excited to partner with Prairie Ridge and the NC Department of Natural & Cultural Resources on this important project.

We’re excited to see continued progress on the renovations to the Holshouser Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Our firm is proud to work with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on the design that incorporates renovated interior spaces, updated building systems, and new exterior landscaping. The facility will be open for this year’s N.C. State Fair in October.

We were excited to be a part of the groundbreaking for the new Mary Ann Brittain Education Center at the Prairie Ridge Ecostation, a diverse 38-acre greenspace within the City of Raleigh that has been transformed into a thriving Piedmont prairie habitat.
