This week, we’re celebrating Peter Meuser on his 5-year anniversary with Aurora! Pete joined the team as an Assistant Superintendent and quickly proved that he had leadership skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and the dedication needed to succeed on even the most complex jobsites. Over the years, he has become a valued Superintendent that the team can rely on, known for being knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to support fellow employee-owners and subcontractors alike. The Aurora team wrapped up Construction Safety Week, and it was a great reminder that building a strong safety culture takes continuous learning, engagement, and teamwork.

We kicked off Construction Safety Week with the 3M Fall Protection team and their demo truck, giving our teams hands-on insight into fall protection systems and best practices. Later in the week, Rob Labbe from American Global and Anthony Romeo from spoke with our crews about making safe choices, fall protection fundamentals, and selecting the right PPE for the task. We wrapped things up with a Milwaukee Tool product and safety demonstration, focused on hazard elimination & substitution, risk reduction strategies, and jobsite safety.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the week a wonderful success. Most importantly, thank you to our onsite teams for the attention, professionalism, and commitment they bring to safety every day!

Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone as Nicholas Aldorisio marks 25 years with Aurora Contractors.

As CFO, Nick has played an important role in the company’s growth and success, bringing steady leadership, thoughtful guidance, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Beyond his professional expertise, he is a trusted teammate, a valued member of our ESOP Committee representing our employee-owners, and someone who genuinely cares about both the company and the people behind it.

Nick’s dedication, loyalty, and team-first mindset have made a lasting impact across Aurora. Congratulations on 25 years, Nick, and thank you for everything you’ve contributed along the way!

The team at Aurora Contractors kicked off Construction Safety Week 2026 yesterday at our Jake's 58 Casino Hotel site. 3M's fall protection training demo truck was onsite for a live drop test demonstration of various types of safety equipment, as well as a refresher course on harnesses, anchors, and lanyards.

Though we’re always vigilant when it comes to jobsite safety, this week is a great opportunity to reinforce proper usage of safety gear, remind us of the importance of protecting ourselves and each other, and to show our appreciation to the entire team with a catered lunch. More to come as we celebrate safety all week!

Aurora Contractors’ Venture Park Cold Storage project is almost complete! This 137,000 SF cold storage distribution facility is located in Ronkonkoma, NY, it features state of the art refrigeration systems, super flat Fricks Floors, and is currently being marketed by Cushman & Wakefield. Another fantastic job by our design/build team in a super active and growing market sector!

We had gorgeous weather for the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Port Washington Police Headquarters on Monday. Thank you to the Commissioners, Chiefs, and all of our officials from Nassau County and the Town of North Hempstead for joining us. The teams at VRD Contracting and H2M architects + engineers put together a great program to mark the start of construction. Aurora Contractors is honored to be a part of this important project!

We are proud to share that Aurora Contractors has been selected to construct the new Ronald McDonald House at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.

This project will deliver a three-story, 60,000-square-foot home featuring 30 private family suites along with wellness, recreation, and communal spaces designed to support families while their children receive care.

This project is particularly meaningful for our team. Forty years ago, Aurora helped build the first Ronald McDonald House on Long Island in New Hyde Park. To be invited back decades later to help deliver the next one is truly special and reflects our continued commitment to building projects that make a lasting impact on our communities.

We are honored to partner with Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, and the entire project team to bring this important facility to life for families across Long Island. Stay tuned for updates!
