Nearly two years in, the masonry restoration at Lexington Riverside in Mendota Heights is close to the finish line. The work spans two buildings, with full repointing, brick replacement, new flashing, and finish metals from the BRC metal shop.

Hydroforming metal with high water pressure usually looks pretty satisfying. But when you’re pushing new materials to their limit… POP.

We recently used this method to shape copper into custom domes for a restoration project, but aluminum is a whole different story. It doesn’t stretch like steel or copper; ask too much of it, and it lets go.

In our in-house fab shop, every failed part teaches us something new about the material, the pressure, and the die. It’s all about trial, error, and testing long before a piece ever makes it onto a historic building.

Protecting civic landmarks, one detail at a time.

Another project is in the books at the Mille Lacs County in Milaca! Our team cleared out deteriorated exterior control joint sealant and installed new material to ensure a clean, weather-tight seal against the elements.

We had the privilege of restoring the courthouse section last year, so getting back on-site to keep the rest of this gorgeous property in top shape was a win in our book.
