Clock in with our Blasting Crew. Swipe to watch the blast and see the precision behind it.

This is where science meets power. Controlled blasting takes detailed planning, expert analysis, and strict safety controls to keep every event measured and contained within the pit. Before the countdown, teams analyze rock mechanics, map the layout, and set clear safety perimeters.

Big energy. No guesswork. Just precision.

250 years ago, a foundation was laid. For half of that journey, Kennecott has been proud to help build on it.

We’re proud of our people, our history in Utah and the role we continue to play in powering America’s future.

By producing critical minerals like copper and tellurium, we’re supporting national security, energy resilience and American manufacturing.

Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸

35 years of grit, heart, and legacy.

This International Day of Women in Mining, we’re honoring Jerrie Terry and a career built on resilience, consistency, and quiet leadership.

Starting in the power plant and spending most of her career in the refinery, Jerrie showed up every day ready to learn, work hard and support her team. Along the way, she built a life at Kennecott, raising her family, forming lasting friendships and creating a legacy that will carry forward.

As she prepares to retire, Jerrie leaves behind more than 35 years of service. She leaves a path for others to follow.

Her advice? Don’t be afraid to try something new.

Thank you, Jerrie, for everything you’ve given to Kennecott. 💛
