Investing in the next generation of transportation leaders is one of the most meaningful ways we can help shape the future of our industry.

CBB was honored to sponsor a scholarship through Conference Of Minority Transportation Officials - COMTO - St. Louis' MOSAIC Scholarship Program. Congratulations to Jaden Buchanan, this year's CBB scholarship recipient, who is transferring from Texas Southern University (TSU) to the new University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) engineering program this fall!

Jaden's resilience, perseverance, and commitment to creating a brighter future through higher education are truly inspiring. We are proud to support his academic journey and look forward to seeing the impact he'll make in the transportation profession.

Thank you to COMTO St. Louis for connecting students with opportunities that help build a stronger, more diverse transportation industry. Congratulations again, Jaden! 🎉

Intern Summer 2026: Complete! 🎓

Last week, our six interns wrapped up their final projects at CBB, and we celebrated with a farewell lunch and a Cardinals outing. ⚾ Throughout the summer, they got a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to keep a transportation engineering and planning firm moving, from field visits and professional organization lunches to golf tournaments, project work, and learning the inner workings of CBB. More importantly, they brought new perspectives, curiosity, and lots of energy to the team.

We're proud of everything they accomplished this summer and grateful for the time we got to spend with them. Congratulations, interns, and best of luck on what's next! 👏

Last week, our team was in Detroit for the ITE Annual Meeting, where CBB was proud to contribute in more ways than one. 🚦

Ashley and Jacob Kaltenbronn helped support the next generation of transportation professionals by serving on a career development panel, producing the Traffic Bowl competition, and Ashley also served on the judges panel in the Three-Minute Student Pitch Competition. Meanwhile, our intern Sam represented Texas A&M on their Traffic Bowl Team.

We're proud to see our team sharing their expertise, supporting the profession, and staying engaged with the ITE community.

Nick recently joined the firm this summer as a Transportation Analyst after first gaining experience with CBB as an intern in 2025, where he supported transportation planning efforts and community engagement, including public meetings for the SEMPO Metropolitan Transportation Plan project.

We’re excited to have Nick continue growing his career with CBB and contribute to our transportation planning and engineering projects!

🚦Our summer interns recently toured the Missouri Department of Transportation's Traffic Management Center (TMC), part of MoDOT's Gateway Guide program, getting a firsthand look at how traffic is monitored and managed across the region.

The tour was led by CBB's Greg Owens, PE, Associate and Senior ITS Engineer, who shared his expertise and gave the interns a closer look at how these systems work in practice to improve safety and mobility on Missouri's roadways.

We're proud to provide opportunities like this that help the next generation of transportation engineers connect classroom learning to the real-world impact they'll have throughout their careers.
