It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Sarah Blair, wife of the late William Blair and a beloved part of Blair Brothers for so many years.

For those who have been here a long time, it is hard to picture the office without Sarah at her desk—the first face you saw when you walked through the door. At noon, her TV tray would be set up in William's office for their daily lunch together.

Sarah and William spent 55 years side by side, and Blair Brothers was very much a part of the life they built together. Even after retiring, she still stopped by regularly for lunch and a visit and rarely missed the chance to celebrate with everyone at our Christmas lunches.

Today, Blair Brothers continues on through the next generations of the Blair family, carrying forward what William and Sarah helped build. We are fortunate that Sarah remained such a special and constant part of our lives here through the years.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our friend and coworker, Mike Edwards, who passed away Friday after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Before Mike became part of Blair Brothers, he spent 30 years serving our country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief in 2011.

If you knew Mike, you probably have a story about him—or more likely, you heard one of his. He loved talking about his years in the Navy, and he could always be counted on for a good story, a quick comeback, or a joke at just the right time. His humor and personality made an ordinary day in the shop a little more entertaining, and those are the things we will miss most.

Even through his illness, Mike was still Mike. Just last month, he joined us for our Tides baseball game outing. He was visiting with friends, telling jokes, laughing, and enjoying the night. Looking back, we are especially grateful for that evening and the chance to make one more memory together.

Mike wasn't simply someone we worked with—he worked alongside us. He was the kind of person who noticed when something needed to be done and stepped in to help, whether it was his responsibility or not. His hard work and dedication meant a great deal to Blair Brothers, but the kind of man he was meant even more.

Our hearts are with his wife, Robin, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone who loved him.

Thank you for your service, Mike. Thank you for the stories, the jokes, the friendship, and the time you shared with us.
