High above Downtown Los Angeles, Sundt’s work at Arizona State University’s California Center was impossible to miss as a massive crane lifted new 300-ton chillers into place.

The project included replacing two aging chillers with new high-efficiency units, along with cooling tower refurbishments, controls upgrades, pump improvements, and other central plant enhancements designed to support the facility for years to come.

Decades after our first project with Arizona State University, it’s exciting to see that partnership reaching skylines beyond Arizona.

Congratulations to Angelica Rosales, Sundt Project Director, on her reappointment to Governor Greg Abbott's Governor's Commission for Women!

This marks Angie's second term serving on the commission, which is charged with advancing opportunities for women-owned businesses, addressing human trafficking and supporting foster care and adoption outreach efforts through the Heart Galleries of Texas.

For more than 25 years, Angie has dedicated her career to building strong communities through leadership and advocacy. In addition to helping grow Sundt's presence across Texas, she serves in leadership roles with organizations including The Texas Lyceum, Heart Galleries of El Paso, The Borderplex Alliance, The Hospitals of Providence East Campus and Make-A-Wish North Texas.

Reflecting on her community involvement, Angie shared, "One of the most rewarding parts of this work is learning what others are doing in their communities and finding ways to elevate and support those efforts."

As someone who has founded three nonprofits supporting women and children and continues to champion foster care and adoption initiatives, Angie focuses on creating lasting impact by connecting people and creating opportunities for communities to thrive.

Congratulations, Angie, on this well-deserved appointment!

Sundt is helping build the future of healthcare education on California’s North Coast.

Construction is underway on Cal Poly Humboldt’s 41,781-square-foot Health Education Hub, transforming the Stewart Building into a modern, simulation-based learning environment. The renovation will feature advanced simulation labs, modern classrooms and dedicated student support spaces designed to enhance hands-on healthcare training.

Once complete in summer 2027, the project will expand nursing and allied health programs and help strengthen the region’s healthcare workforce. Check out more about this project: https://bit.ly/4o1MICK

Huge shoutout to the SR 202 Santan Freeway Widening team! With construction well over halfway complete and on track for a spring 2027 finish, Sundt has delivered major progress while generating more than $2.9 million in value engineering savings and implementing a first-of-its-kind material reuse effort for ADOT.

The project adds two general-purpose lanes in each direction between Loop 101 and Gilbert Road, plus an additional lane from Gilbert Road to Val Vista Drive. Sundt’s work includes bridge widening and replacement, retaining wall construction, and major pavement and drainage improvements.

A standout feature of the project is the reconstruction of 26 ramps through tightly coordinated 60-day closures. This approach has accelerated construction, reduced crews’ exposure to traffic, and minimized impacts to the traveling public. The team also adjusted closure sequencing to ensure access to major community events.

The project is also setting a new standard for sustainability. As ADOT’s first project to implement a newly Federal Highway Authority-approved material reuse method, the team recycled 100% of demolished concrete into aggregate base material, reducing landfill waste, lowering fuel consumption and emissions, and delivering additional savings.

The team has continuously found ways to improve value through strategic phasing, constructability reviews, and optimized earthwork, pavement, and drainage solutions. These efforts have delivered cost savings without compromising quality.

Stay tuned as this key infrastructure upgrade continues to take shape!

Mighty machines and future builders were on full display as Sundt Construction rolled into Apache Junction for the 2026 Community Construction Expo.

From climbing into construction equipment to exploring careers in construction and manufacturing, the event gave local families a hands-on look at the industry and the people who make it all possible. We were proud to help showcase the people behind the work and inspire the next generation interested in the trades.

Events like this are especially meaningful as Sundt continues investing in the future of Apache Junction. With construction now underway, our new 65,000-square-foot offsite manufacturing facility will bring opportunities for the community, including approximately 100 new jobs during its first phase.

Thank you to the City of Apache Junction Government and everyone who joined us to celebrate the future of construction in our community.
