We love it when a plan comes together.

🧬 📰 There's big news in life sciences today. Sparq Labs just doubled AND BioSpherix moved into One Technology Place. BioSpherix, a long-time partner of Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, held a ribbon cutting this week for its new Center for Cytocentric Technology, the anchor tenant of the Sparq Labs expansion.

Each of these groups provides a piece of the puzzle in helping regenerative medicine companies grow and flourish in the Piedmont Triad.

🧩 WFIRM has long been the place to be for regenerative medicine research, which is changing healthcare, space travel and more. It brings companies and researchers into proximity to spark research.

🧩 Sparq Labs provides flexible dry lab and wet lab spaces designed to support growing life sciences companies so that they can do their innovative work. The new expansion adds 20,000 square feet of space for more companies to join.

🧩 BioSpherix creates cutting-edge advanced controlled environment systems for cell culture and manufacturing, which is used by life science companies of all kinds to create the right conditions for research.

Together, all these pieces come together to bring to life the goal of creating a place where life science companies come to grow. 🎉🎉🎉

We’re proud to be a part of downtown Winston-Salem. For so many reasons. Here’s 2️⃣:

🏙️The physical connection to downtown is vital to the iQ.

Generally an innovation district needs to be located in a dense, urban environment to spur connections and draw people and companies in. An environment like, *ahem, ahem,* downtown Winston-Salem. The iQ couldn’t be an innovation district without it.

🤝 Being part of a thriving downtown in Winston-Salem has been in the vision for the iQ from the very beginning.

The iQ–long before the name “Innovation Quarter” ever existed–was born out of a partnership of people who love this city. This partnership was formed by city, county and state governments, local businesses, developers and community members, Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Wexford Science & Technology, the iQ’s OG real estate and development partner.

What all these partners had in common was a vision for downtown Winston-Salem as a place of community, collaboration and innovation. That vision slowly grew into what the iQ is today: a vibrant innovation district that spurs connections, builds community and fosters discovery.

And we love being a part of that. 🫶🏾
