🌶️🫙🥒 Get ready for The Spicy Pickle Deli & Market, the latest addition to the iQ’s menu of food options. The NYC-style deli is gearing up for its grand opening on September 7, and you’ll want to give it a try.

What you need to know:

🕚 Open 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday-Sunday
📍 Bailey South behind Tuscani

And don’t forget the menu! You can expect:

🥪 NYC-style deli sandwiches
🥗 Salads and soups
🍔 Burgers
🍟 Sides and sodas
🫙🥒 And, of course, pickles!

In the works is a full deli market with meats, cheeses, spreads, desserts and packaged goods and downtown delivery options coming by October, all from the same team behind Tuscani By Sage & Salt. Mark the grand opening on your calendar and make a plan to try out the Spicy Pickle.

We were pleased to welcome Dr. Samantha Brown-Parks, Regional Director for the and Human Services Atlanta Region, to the Innovation Quarter this month.

Through conversations about the future of medical education and community healthcare along with tours of our innovation spaces, the visit highlighted the collaboration that powers iQ every day.

Stops included Sparq, our hub for entrepreneurs and small businesses; 's immersive mock ICU; and several other spaces advancing innovation across the district.

Is it a place to do research? Tackle the world’s toughest problems? Be creative?

While you may not know the textbook definition of “innovation district,” you can probably guess some of the components.

It IS a place that fosters research and creativity, a place that brings people together. But that’s not all that innovation districts like the iQ and The Pearl CLT do.

With “Wake Forest” boldly inscribed atop one of the iQ’s buildings, it’s easy to think this district is just for Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Wake Forest University. It’s true that these anchor institutions are a big part of the innovation district, promoting research, education and discovery, but they’re not alone.

If you follow the iQ’s social channels, you may also think about startups and entrepreneurs – particularly in technology, medicine and other sciences – as major drivers of innovation and growth here.

But there’s another type of business that plays an important role: “Main street” companies, like Alma Mexicana, who have been part of the iQ from the early years, through COVID and beyond. Together with other small businesses in the district, whether devoted to wellness or great coffee or the perfect cocktail, they create a place that people want to be.

In the iQ, we call this “vibrancy,” and it’s a vital part of the fabric of innovation districts all over the world.

Park Hangs is back in August with a double header! Experience two concerts in Bailey Park this month, featuring Coconut Cake and General Purpose.

🥥🎂 On August 21, enjoy the Congolese rumba and African dance music of Coconut Cake. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes.

🎻🎸 On August 28, General Purpose, a Greensboro-based band that fuses classical instruments with rock music, brings the jams to the Bailey Park stage.
