Last weekend's 60th anniversary celebration was one we'll never forget. 🎉

The photos tell the story better than words ever could: current employees catching up with retirees, families enjoying the food trucks and bouncy houses, friends gathering over a catered meal, and neighbors sharing memories while listening to live music. 🎶

⭐️ One of the most meaningful moments was having Bedford founder Bob Ludlow with us to celebrate this milestone. To see him witness the company he started 60 years ago and the generations of people it has touched was something truly remarkable. ✨

For 60 years, Bedford has been shaped by the people who work here, support us, and grow alongside us. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the journey and the many connections that make Bedford what it is today.

A big THANK YOU to all of the Amazing Racers who stopped by Bedford during the first-ever King Turkey Day Amazing Race! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🦃

At our Build Challenge stop, participants had to think like an engineer. Build like a champion. Using only twist tie materials, teams were tasked with building a structure taller than 18 inches. Some designs reached new heights, while others taught us that engineering can be harder than it looks! 😉

Thanks to all the racers and to the King Turkey Day, Inc. Official board for organizing the race and allowing us to be a part of the action!

The event has us excited for September!

Bedford became a trusted name among food manufacturers as Americans embraced faster, more convenient meals at home.

In the late 1970s, Bedford began manufacturing poly trays for the candy and cookie industry. Around the same time, engineers began learning new thermoforming technology to produce food packaging. While early sales were slow, they soon discovered the bowls and lids worked in microwave ovens–making Bedford the only U.S. company at the time with the equipment to manufacture them.

The MicroLite® brand was born just as microwavable meals surged in popularity, attracting customers such as Campbell's, Pillsbury, General Mills, and Swanson.

Rapid growth led to the creation of Bedford Plastics and a move to a larger facility in Sioux Falls. The division's success eventually caught the attention of Amoco, then the nation's largest foam container manufacturer, resulting in Bedford's sale of the business.

Though often overlooked today, Bedford Plastics played a major role in the company's growth and success over the past 60 years.

This morning's visit from The Good Stuff-Brewing Joy coffee truck quickly spurred an impromptu team meeting in the parking lot. ☕🚚

Attendance was high, and agenda items included deliberating the best coffee order, the weather, and how many cups it takes to become a morning person.

The meeting concluded with a fully fueled team ready to make things happen. 😄⚡☕

It was a scorcher ☀️🌡️, mixed with the occasional shower ☔️, but that didn't stop these Bedford gentlemen from enjoying a great day on the course at the Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation Inc. 34th Annual Health Care Benefit Golf Classic at GreatLIFE in Worthington.
