✈️ Celebrating National Aviation Day with a Project Spotlight: York Airport Hangar Expansion

MDS Engineering was proud to provide engineering design and construction support for the redevelopment of the York Airport Hangar, helping modernize a key piece of regional aviation infrastructure.

Our design included a semi-heated hangar engineered for year-round operation, featuring natural ventilation, radiant heaters, heat-removal fans, wall louvers, and trench drainage, while meeting ASHRAE 90.1 energy standards.

The project also included upgraded power distribution, LED lighting optimized for aviation maintenance, grounding and controls systems, stormwater management, natural gas piping, and sanitary drainage infrastructure.

From design through construction, our team worked closely with project partners to resolve field conditions and help deliver a reliable, high-performing facility that will serve the York aviation community for years to come.

Today we say goodbye to our Summer Intern, Jaycen, as he wraps up his time with MDS.

⚾ An evening at the ballpark with the MDS Engineering team!

We traded project deadlines and job sites for baseball, great food, and a few fun photo ops with the York Revolution mascot, DownTown. It was a great opportunity to step away from the office, connect as a team, and enjoy a well-deserved evening together.

We’re grateful for a team that works hard, supports one another, and enjoys celebrating along the way.

🌱Project Spotlight: PA Department of Agriculture | Harrisburg, PA🌱

MDS Engineering is proud to highlight our work on the Department of Agriculture Steam Generator Design Project in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

As part of this project, MDS Engineering provided full-scope MEP engineering and design services to support the replacement of an aging electric steam generator at the Department's central laboratory facility. The result was a leaner; more efficient utility system designed for long-term reliability and code compliance.

Our work included the safe demolition of the basement steam boiler and associated piping systems, new domestic water connections enabling the sterilization appliance to generate steam independently, decommissioning and rerouting of legacy plumbing utilities, and electrical upgrades bringing all revised loads and terminations into compliance with current NEC and Pennsylvania UCC standards.

Throughout the project, MDS coordinated closely with state officials and contractors to ensure a safe, fully documented transition with minimal operational disruption.

We're proud to have partnered with IB Abel, Inc. on a project that strengthens mission-critical infrastructure for the Department of Agriculture while supporting operations for years to come.
