As J. Benton Construction approaches our 20-year anniversary in the U.S. Virgin Islands, we are proud of how far we've come—and even more proud of the relationships that made it possible.

Local trade partners, suppliers and relationships have always been key to our progress, driving the level of quality and excellence seen across our work. At our D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace Rehabilitation Project, 99% of this project was completed by local trade partners representing over 250,000 man-hours to date.

Over the years, we have expanded our team, strengthened our capabilities, and delivered projects that have made a lasting impact across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. We do not just work in the Virgin Islands—this is home—and our commitment to the Territory is reflected in everything we build.

We are grateful for the trust placed in us and thankful for the many trade partners who have helped shape our journey over the past two decades.

The new Tropical Shipping facility on St. Croix is complete.

Built to support cargo operations and the movement of goods across the Virgin Islands, this facility plays an important role in the logistics network our businesses, residents, and communities rely on every day.

From site development through structural ex*****on, each phase required coordination, planning, and careful attention to the needs of the client. The result is a facility designed to help teams work more efficiently, reinforce critical infrastructure, and sustain long‑term operational success.

Safer jobsites are built through planning, communication, consistency, and accountability. When those standards are carried into the field every day, they protect our people, strengthen our teams, and support better outcomes for the communities we serve.

Only three weeks on the ground, our team has already set three modular units using a 165-ton Liebherr crane with a 120-foot boom, moving the Department of Justice Medical Examiners Office forward safely and efficiently.

Located in Orange Grove on St. Croix, this project requires careful coordination with nearby businesses and daily activity surrounding the site. Maintaining access, minimizing disruption, and keeping the work moving remain key priorities throughout construction.

As this essential public service facility moves toward completion, our team continues to advance the work with coordination, care, and a strong focus on safety.
