Waterfront Brisbane | Project Update

Our scaffold continues to rise alongside construction at Waterfront Brisbane, advancing in sequence with the formwork jump system to maintain perimeter edge protection.

The latest scaffold reset is at Levels 5 and 6, using the Twix bracket system and lattice beams hung from the core wall. This arrangement allows the scaffold to progress with the formwork, with one elevation remaining open to accommodate the incoming structural steel.

Careful planning and close coordination between our design, project and site teams continue to support each stage of this complex project. Great work by our crews delivering the scaffold as construction moves upwards.

We’re proud to announce that Cogent Scaffolding has secured the scaffolding contract for Palmera Residences, working with our valued client Multiplex on this landmark Gold Coast development.

Following our early works on the project, including the design and installation of a custom fully enclosed weather protection walkway, our team will now continue on site delivering the broader scaffolding and access requirements throughout construction.

Located in the Northcliffe precinct between Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise, Palmera is a $1 billion development, 52-level beachfront residential tower being delivered by Multiplex for Central Equity.

Across the project, Cogent will provide a range of scaffolding and access solutions to support the different stages of construction, including:

• Perimeter and façade access
• Core and structural access
• Scaffold access to the six-level podium
• Loading bays and materials access
• Stair access and temporary access solutions
• Edge protection and fall protection systems
• Covered walkways and public protection
• Internal access scaffolding
• Bespoke scaffolding and engineered access solutions as required throughout construction

Having already supported the early stages of Palmera, we’re excited to expand our involvement and work alongside the Multiplex team as this impressive development rises on the Gold Coast skyline.

Another major project for the Cogent team and a great opportunity to demonstrate the depth of our capability across complex, high-rise scaffolding and access.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve been awarded the scaffolding labour contract for The Wesley Hospital Expansion project, working alongside Hutchinson Builders.

This landmark quarter-of-a-billion-dollar development will significantly expand the hospital’s capacity, delivering six additional operating theatres, enhanced cancer-care services, state-of-the-art imaging and new specialist facilities.

We’re excited to bring our expertise, safety focus and hardworking team to a project that will make an important contribution to healthcare in Queensland.

We look forward to working with Hutchinson Builders and the wider project team to help bring this outstanding development to life.

This week, Cogent Scaffolding is proud to once again support the MATES in Construction Fly the Flag campaign.

We have been flying the MATES flag and supporting their initiatives across our projects for many years. As the flag tours our sites, each crew is invited to sign it and take the MATES pledge - a commitment to look out for their mates, start honest conversations and make sure no one faces a difficult time alone.

The flag is an outward display of the important work our industry does every day to improve mental health and prevent su***de. In an industry where workers are more than twice as likely to die by su***de as other employed people in Australia, checking in with a mate can make a genuine difference.

MATES in Construction has supported our industry since 2008 through workplace programs, case management and its free 24/7 helpline.

Some impressive progress at NEXTDC B2 Brisbane Stage 2, with the scaffold now reaching full height and the scale of Cogent Scaffolding’s access package really taking shape.

Working alongside Multiplex, Cogent is delivering the primary scaffold and high soffit works across the project, utilising the Layher Australia scaffolding system to provide engineered access and protection solutions throughout the build.

These latest photos give a great perspective on the size and complexity of the scaffold now wrapping the structure, with extensive multi-level access required to support the various construction activities taking place across the building.

Reaching full height marks a significant milestone for the project. As construction continues, our team will continue adapting and modifying the scaffold to meet changing site requirements while maintaining safe and efficient access for the many trades working across the project.

Great progress on our works at the Waterfront Brisbane project in the Brisbane C*D.

These latest images give a great perspective of the scale and complexity of the scaffold solution Cogent is delivering to support construction of the Waterfront tower cores.

Using the Layher Australia Allround Lightweight (LW) system, our scaffold is supported directly from the concrete core walls, providing a highly engineered access solution suited to the unique requirements of this high-rise project.

The system incorporates gap decks, lock-against lift-offs and console brackets to minimise gaps and create safe, efficient working platforms as construction continues to progress vertically.

Projects of this scale require careful planning, innovative scaffold design and close coordination between our design, project and site teams. It’s great to see the solution taking shape and the quality of workmanship from our crews on site.

Progress is taking shape at Logan Reserve Special School.

The transformation on site is well underway, with multiple buildings now taking shape across this major education project.

Cogent Scaffolding is proud to be working alongside Hutchinson Builders, delivering the scaffolding labour package and supporting the safe er****on of scaffold systems across the site. It's great to see the project progressing and our team playing an important role in keeping construction moving safely and efficiently.

This $300 million development will provide a purpose-built learning environment for students with disability, creating a lasting benefit for families and the wider Logan community.
