We loved hosting Electrify This/Sarah Aubrey for a turbine climb at our Crudine Ridge Wind Farm near Mudgee. With 37 turbines, Crudine can power up to 75,000 homes. A little known fact about wind farms is that they pay off their carbon footprint in 6 months and have a shelf life of at least 30 years. The maths makes sense as does the need for wind to keep Australia's electricity system reliable as coal fired power stations retire. 🤓🧮

🎉 A major milestone has been reached at Uungula Wind Farm, with the first wind turbine now standing tall in the Central West!

✅The installation marks a step towards delivering enough renewable energy to power more than 220,000 homes and building what will become the largest wind farm in NSW.

Over time, another 68 turbines will join the first, transforming the landscape as the project continues to take shape.

🌧️ It's on rainy, winter days that we need wind energy in our electricity system most, as cloudy, wet weather typically reduces solar generation. Luckily, the same weather systems often bring stronger winds, allowing wind farms to ramp up as homes and businesses use more heating and power.

As ageing coal-fired generators continue to retire and Australia moves to clean energy, a combination of wind, solar and firming is critical to maintaining a reliable electricity system.

At Squadron Energy, we're proud to be a 100% Australian owned renewable energy company with six wind farms across NSW, Victoria and Queensland generating enough electricity to supply the equivalent of more than 1 million Australian homes with clean energy ⚡
