We are growing the team and looking for experienced carpenters who are capable of running their own sites. Minimum five years out of your time, with genuine experience in custom residential building and the confidence to make decisions on site, knowing the wider team is there to work through the bespoke details with you.

We are also taking on apprentices who want to learn the trade properly, on homes built to a level that will shape the rest of their career.

Skill and experience are a given. Attitude carries the same weight. Our sites run on people who communicate well, take pride in their work and want to be part of a team that holds a high standard every day.

Three very different projects, and every one of them came down to the same thing — a group of people who care about getting it right.

To our clients, thank you for the trust. You handed us your land, your budget and your ideas, and backed us to deliver. We don’t take that lightly.

To our team, thank you for the standard you hold. Not ticking a box and moving on, but asking every time whether it could be done better. That habit is what these projects are made of.

And to our subcontractors and suppliers, thank you for turning up and doing the hard detail properly. The work that ends up on a trophy is the work you did on site.

Selections are where a home stops being a set of drawings and starts belonging to someone. Our clients had a clear sense of what they were drawn to, and every finish in these rooms came out of long conversations about what felt right rather than what was expected. The VJ lining, the wallpaper, the varying colour tones through each space, the colonial skirting carried through and around the base of the cabinetry, all of it decided piece by piece.

Nothing here was chosen quickly, and nothing was chosen for us. These are their rooms, and they read that way.

The block was 5.7 acres of scrub when our clients first walked us across it, and from the road there was little to suggest what it might become. It was only at the rear of the property that the site revealed itself, where the ground falls away and the Lockyer Valley opens out toward Tabletop Mountain.

They arrived with years of thinking already done. Inspiration, finishes, furniture, a brief so considered that our work became one of interpretation rather than invention. Working alongside our designer Robin, we refined the options with them and positioned the home at the highest point on the site, so that the view they had bought the land for became the view they would live with every day.

The result was recognised with a category win at the 2022 Master Builders Downs and Western Awards, Individual Home $750,000 to $850,000, a further category win at the Queensland Awards, and selected as a National Master Builders Awards finalist.

Drawn tomorrow.

Someone's going to drive that ute home on Friday and they'll have earned the grin.

But Saturday morning the foundation is still at it. Still getting the word out. Still getting blokes to book the appointment they've been putting off for years. Still needing the funds to do it.

Caught early, more than 98 percent of men are still here five years later.

Caught late, that drops to around 36 percent.

Only about a third get caught early.
