When you think of Conrex Steel, you might think only about our large heads, segmentals, and even spheres for oil and gas.

But we also form small heads too.

Currently we manufacture one-piece heads from 6 5/8” in diameter all the way up to 216”, in thicknesses from 3/16” up to 6” and, as mentioned, multi-piece heads to the size of spheres.

It’s time to kick off summer with a Canadian long weekend of fun, BBQs with friends, and sunshine.

Even though this year it’s falling on May 18, it’s traditionally called the May “two four” weekend, and it is the weekend when the most 24 cases of beer are sold in Canada.

While we don’t make beer, we do make steel heads for pressure vessels like propane tanks for barbecues, as an example, so we have earned our place at the picnic table.

In fact, we make heads ranging from 6 5/8” in diameter all the way up to 216” in thicknesses from 3/16” up to 6”.

We take safety seriously.

Our forklifts are a great example of our attention to safety here at Conrex Steel.

We completely refurbish them yearly! A clean up, and a fresh coat of paint.

We don’t do it just because it looks great, although we do take pride in our professionalism in every aspect of our business.

It’s about safety.

Every nick or scuff or ding symbolizes something very important to us. We call it a “near miss”. They are an indication of a contact event and we use these situations to meet and discuss what occurred to prevent it from happening again, ultimately ensuring that our people are safe in their workplace. All with a fresh coat of paint.

Once again, this year we are pleased to provide a paid internship to some outstanding Ontario students who represent the bright future of our industry.

Lucas Leclerc is an engineering student at Western University and will graduate in 2029. His long-term career goals are in Automotive Engineering. “I was drawn to Conrex Steel because of its strong reputation in advanced manufacturing,” he says. “It stood out as a place where I could gain meaningful, real-world experience while contributing to impactful projects.”

Jensen Booler will graduate next year from McGill, and he is studying Mechanical Engineering and returning to the Conrex Group of Companies for his fourth summer. He’s looking forward to learning as much as possible over his internship. “I want to broaden my skillset and apply what I have learned in school to real life applications,” he says. Jensen’s longer-term goals include acquiring his P. Eng.

Cameron Woodard is studying Computer Science at Western University and will graduate in 2029. He is excited by this opportunity with Conrex Steel. His long-term career objectives are in software development.
