⚡ Our first quarterly payout is done!

Last week we sent $5,088 by Interac e-Transfer to 44 Iceberg EV hosts across Newfoundland & Labrador. That's 12¢ for every kWh their home chargers delivered from July to September, paid by a local NL business to local EV drivers.

Thank you to every one of our first hosts for taking a chance on something new. 🙏

And we're just getting started: with nearly 120 chargers now on the network, we expect to send more than 150 e-transfers next quarter.

Two milestones in one week. ⚡

100+ chargers on the Iceberg network across Newfoundland & Labrador, and 100+ of you following along here.

Those chargers have put more than 66,000 kWh into EVs at home, and every one of those kWh paid the homeowner 12¢ back.

Thank you to every host who gave us a spot on their wall, every electrician who did the install, and everyone who told a neighbour. That's how this got to 100.

Iceberg EV hosts get 12¢ back for every kWh their home charger delivers, paid by e-Transfer every quarter. Our first quarterly statements went out to hosts today.

Now there's a bonus for spreading the word. When a friend with an EV joins the network and names you, you each get a $50 bonus rebate once their charger has delivered 1,000 kWh.

50,000 kWh, and a record day to go with it ⚡

On Thursday, Iceberg EV hosts across Newfoundland & Labrador charged 1,330 kWh in a single day: 63 charges on 41 chargers, our biggest day yet. That same evening the network passed 50,000 kWh, in under 11 weeks since we started in mid-July.

That's roughly 300,000 km of electric driving powered from home, and nearly $5,900 earned by our hosts at 12 cents for every kWh.

⚡ 4-04, all electric at Targa Newfoundland 2026

For Targa's 25th year we took a 2021 Mustang Mach-E in Iceberg EV colours from St. John's to Gander to Clarenville. Same stages, same clock as everyone else. Rain, dust, gravel, and a lot of cheering from the side of the road.

🏆 The first all-electric car ever entered in Targa Newfoundland, and the first to finish it.

🙌 Thanks to Doug Ottenheimer in the co-driver seat, the Targa organizers and volunteers on every stage, and everyone who came out to wave at the electric car.

Since our first charge on July 15, Iceberg hosts across Newfoundland have put more than 44,000 kWh of home electricity into their EVs. Together, that adds up to:

🚗 220,000+ km driven — more than 5 trips around the Earth
⛽ About 20,000 litres of gas never bought
💰 About $40,000 kept out of the gas tank
🌎 About 46 tonnes of tailpipe CO₂ avoided

Since July, Iceberg EV hosts have charged more than 43,000 kWh at home, across 70+ homes in 30 communities around Newfoundland & Labrador.

Every one of those kWh earns 12¢ back. So far that's more than $4,960 back in hosts' pockets, just for charging the way they already do: overnight, in their own driveway.
