This is Patsy.

At just six months old, Patsy is full of energy and fun. This young X Lurcher loves people, enjoys her treats, and is always ready for her next adventure.

Patsy is looking for an active home that can continue her training and help her channel all that enthusiasm into becoming the perfect companion. With a clean bill of health, she's ready to start her next chapter.

Patsy arrived at Mrs Murray's Home for Stray Cats and Dogs as a stray, and no owner came forward to claim her. If you or someone you know is looking for a loving, adventure-loving dog and isn't afraid of a little challenge, please consider getting in touch with Mrs Murray's or sharing her story to help her find the forever home she deserves.

When every breath matters, you need to know that your equipment will work. Do you know how a KO₂ emergency escape breathing device works?

When you breathe out, air enters the KO₂ cartridge, potassium superoxide reacts with carbon dioxide and moisture from the breath, removing CO₂ and generating fresh oxygen. The regenerated oxygen is then supplied back to you. This creates a self-contained breathing cycle that supports safe evacuation from hazardous atmospheres.

The result is a guaranteed supply of oxygen, lasting long enough to get you to safety. It doesn't have the larger footprint or maintenance and training requirements of an SCBA.

Understanding the technology behind emergency escape equipment helps ensure you can choose the right equipment for the job at hand.

The transition from PFAS-based firefighting foams to fluorine-free alternatives is one of the biggest changes facing the fire protection industry today.

AFFF relies on the formation of a chemical film layer to rapidly suppress fuel fires, but the bonds that make this possible mean it can take a long time for the chemicals to disperse - if they ever do.

Modern F3 foams achieve protection through engineered foam blanket performance and are biodegradable, so the problem doesn't persist for future generations.

Different chemistry, same objective. Safely and effectively controlling fire while addressing environmental expectations.

It’s Friday at Flare, and we’re building our ultimate safety playlist!

We want to kick off the weekend on the right note, so to get us started, we’ve got:

Safety Dance – Men Without Hats
Stayin' Alive – Bee Gees
We Didn't Start the Fire - Billy Joel

But we need to fill the queue.

What tracks are we missing?

Our Code of Conduct provides a framework for how we work with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and partners. It sets out clear expectations around what we mean by integrity, respect, accountability, and professional conduct.

It's not a document that sits on a shelf while we congratulate ourselves for having it. It's a practical guide that helps us make consistent decisions, navigate challenges, and maintain the standards expected by our clients and by ourselves.

No organisation is perfect. Having shared principles helps ensure we're all working towards the same goal. A Code of Conduct is easy to publish. The real value comes from how it's applied from day to day.

Have you seen the new Resources Hub on our website?

Replacing what used to be the News section, it now holds information and resources on many topics, including technical guides and case studies.

We're adding articles and information to it regularly, so be sure to check back.

What topic would you like to see an article on?

We had a fantastic day on the course with clients, partners, and colleagues at our 2026 Golf Day.

Days like these are about more than golf. They're valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, share experiences, and enjoy time together away from the day-to-day. In an increasingly remote world, these relationships are so essential.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success.

We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Meet the Team: Paulina – Operations Coordinator

For Paulina, no two days at Flare are ever the same. She helps ensure every mobilisation and shipment is meticulously organised, with every detail in place so customers can focus on the job ahead.

"Every day is different. It's challenging, it's enjoyable, and it's busy – and that's how we like it."

It's the challenge that motivates her most. Whether it's logistical problems or coordinating a mobilisation, she enjoys pushing herself beyond her comfort zone and working with colleagues to find solutions.

"Sometimes I think something can't be done, but with the assistance of the team, we can do the impossible."

What does she enjoy most about working at Flare?

"Definitely the challenges. I like getting out of my comfort zone, and the fact that every day is different."

Outside of work, you'll usually find her paddle boarding at sunrise or firing up the BBQ. With three children and a packed schedule, she admits being busy is very much her element.

But perhaps the best summary of all?

"Time flies when you're having fun at work."

Flare Cares began as a staff wellbeing initiative: walk and talks, lunch and learns, and simple ways for people to connect.

At the same time, there was also:
Support for local community groups.
A close link between safety and environmental responsibility.
Investment in people.
A focus on ethical, accountable business practices.

Bringing all of this together created a clear ESG programme built on reality, not just theory.
As ESG expectations grow across tenders and supplier assessments, that clarity matters.

Flare Cares isn't something we do. It's who we are.
