Starting from the bottom and climbing the ladder has many benefits even if you are the Directors Son!

Hardworking :
You find out just how difficult and labour intense some roles actually are, you then start to appreciate the effort that goes into the job from your team.

Knowledge:
Actually knowing the job firsthand is an advantage. You will actually know what the team are talking about which leads to you knowing what your talking about.

Always having a trade behind you:
Decent tradesman are getting difficult to obtain so knowing the trade is a good solid foundation for your future

Leadership:
Earning the respect from your team is gained from learning the ropes from the bottom to the top.
Doing the hard work, putting in the effort and gaining the knowledge will bring you good leadership skills and respect

Mental Health awareness Week

This week in our Toolbox Talks we will be raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing issues.
Talking about Mental health issues and the support available to all our operatives.
There are lots of diffrent challenges working in construction that can unfortunately take a toll on workers.
At AKS Building we have an open door policy to encourage our workers to speak up if they have any issues.
By addressing mental health issues we can create a safer and healthier work environment for all workers.

Continuing on with Construction Safety Week today's topic was - "Strengthen our Culture" Having an effective culture is an important component of our successes. Our Organisational culture on our projects should be about making safety personal.
Having an obligation to our fellow workers is as important as getting the job done!

🚧CONSTRUCTION SAFETY WEEK🚧
This week is Construction safety week.
We will be looking at different aspects of safety within construction. Toolbox talks will be taking place on different subjects through out the week making sure all our operatives are fully aware and kept updated regularly. Then giving them the opportunity to voice any issues or matters they may have.

Our Oakley Grove project for Willmott Dixon in Lemington Spa.
Project consisting of 4 number blocks.

*Nursery school
*Primary school
*Secondary school
*Sports school & Hall

Secondary school is near completion and other blocks are well underway.
Our package on this project included the install of fire rated cavity barrier,installation of cavity tray and masonry. Full supply and install.

Continued progress at The Crown Works for John Graham Construction in Birmingham.

Precast concrete halo beams installed ready to take the coping stones, retaining walls and planters are nearing completion. Within the small courtyard stone cills and heads are also being completed on some elevations.

Project completion not far away.
