Another interesting project recently completed for one of our longest serving customers.

We were tasked with modifying an oven that had previously been split into two sections. To suit the layout of a newly designed production line, sections had to be removed from both halves to achieve the required overall length.

Once the modifications were complete, both sections were carefully skated into position, aligned, and welded back together to create the finished oven structure.

We love a challenge, and thanks to the hard work of the team, the project was completed safely and successfully. The oven is now ready for the next phase of the installation, with burners and guide rails to be fitted in the coming weeks.

We were recently asked by one of our customers to move a couple of machines in their busy factory to help improve the layout and free up some extra space. This was one of those jobs.

The task involved relocating an aerator machine to a new spot chosen by the customer. As part of the move, we also changed the machine’s orientation and put the surrounding safety fencing back in place to make sure everything stayed safe and compliant.

With only a few hours of downtime, the machine was successfully moved, recommissioned, and back up and running without any problems. Another smooth machine move done and dusted!

A quick update on what the team at Industrial Engineering Solutions has been working on recently.

Despite being busier than ever and welcoming several new customers on board, our commitment to delivering a high quality service has remained the same.

We've continued to support our long term customers with shift cover, project work, planned maintenance, shutdowns, and reactive engineering support across the food manufacturing industry.

Over the past few months, our team has been involved in the design, fabrication, and installation of a wide range of equipment and modifications, including stainless steel product bins, prover carriages, vertical access ladders, conveyors, and bespoke fabrication projects.

We've also been supporting one of our bakery customers with modifications to their oven systems, including roller upgrades, as well as major installation works on a new tortilla production line.

Currently, we are designing, fabricating, and installing stainless steel guarding for a production line at one of our longest-standing customer sites.

At the end of last week, we successfully installed our stainless steel platform at one of our long-standing customers’ sites. As the production line was down for scheduled maintenance, it provided the perfect opportunity to carry out the installation.

The proofer previously had a door that exited onto a staircase, which has since been removed to allow double doors to be fitted for improved access to newly installed production lines. As a result, the door had been locked off from the inside, and the customer asked us to design and fabricate a new platform with a vertical access ladder to provide safe and practical access.

With limited space and restricted access, the team designed, fabricated, and installed the platform within the required timeframe.

Another great team effort all round.

It’s been a very busy start to the month for the team at IES, so here’s a quick update on what we’ve been working on.

We’ve kicked off a new project with one of our longest-standing customers, installing new conveyors and machinery at their latest bakery site. They required a fast turnaround to progress outstanding works, and our team responded quickly to keep the project moving forward.

We also have one of our engineers currently completing an overseas project in Paris with another valued customer 🇫🇷 — great to see the team supporting clients both in the UK and abroad.

Alongside this, our engineers have been heavily involved in the usual weekly maintenance support across the sites we cover. With many teams running lean, we’re proud to be helping our customers maintain production and keep things running smoothly.

There are also several stainless steel fabrication projects underway, including a stainless steel access platform and ladders, ready for installation.

Last week, a new customer contacted us regarding the replacement of an explosion vent panel on their flour packing bin.

The panel had operated exactly as designed, so the task involved removing the activated panel and installing a new replacement. The vent was temporarily supported from the surrounding beams while the explosion vent was safely separated, allowing the new panel to be fitted. The existing sensor was disconnected and replaced with a new high-temperature explosion vent sensor, which was then set accordingly.

Once complete, everything was fully reassembled and handed back to production without any issues.
