Today, some of our newest team members had the opportunity to visit one of our solar carport projects as it nears completion.

Witnessing the progress first-hand is always inspiring, and it shows how planning, engineering and teamwork come together to deliver award-winning clean energy infrastructure.

These visits are a key part of our commitment to continuous learning and keeping our people connected to the heart of what we do. Helping organisations cut costs, reduce emissions and build a more sustainable future with clean energy.

Installing solar and clean energy infrastructure is not just a sustainability decision. It is a strategic investment that delivers significant long-term savings, predictable returns and protection from volatile energy costs.

Solar PV can generate electricity for as little as 4p to 6p per kWh, compared with typical grid prices of around 25p to 30p per kWh.

Once installed, solar has a fixed and predictable cost profile for 25 years or more. As grid prices rise, the value of every kilowatt-hour generated increases, improving returns year after year and providing long-term budget certainty.

Over the lifetime of a system, this translates into:
🔸 Significant reductions in operating costs
🔸 Strong, measurable ROI on capital invested
🔸 Resilience against rising energy prices
🔸 Tangible ESG outcomes

With energy prices volatile, EPC rules tightening and Net Zero influencing capital values, solar and energy storage are now core asset-performance strategies for commercial landlords and asset managers.

Across commercial portfolios, roofs, car parks and unused land are being transformed into income-generating energy assets that enhance property value, strengthen EPCs and deliver long-term, inflation-linked returns.

That is why SolarSense has created a new Commercial Landlord Guide showing how solar, energy storage and solar carports are being used to generate income, strengthen ESG performance and future-proof property portfolios.

Inside, you will find:
🔸 How landlord solar PPAs create inflation-linked revenue
🔸 How solar improves EPCs and ESG performance
🔸 How car parks can generate revenue with clean energy
🔸 How zero-upfront-cost funding models work across multi-site portfolios
🔸 A real-world case study from Orchard Street Investment Management

These photos capture a key milestone on this 575kWp solar carport project, with roof works now complete and the installation progressing into the next stage of delivery.

What began as a complex construction phase is now clearly taking form, transforming a standard car park into productive energy infrastructure that will soon generate significant on-site renewable electricity.

Once complete, this solar carport will help to:

🔸 Reduce reliance on the grid and volatile energy costs
🔸 Improve energy resilience through on-site generation
🔸 Strengthen Net Zero and ESG performance
🔸 Enhance the visitor parking experience with covered solar
🔸 Unlock future revenue streams through paid EV charging

A crisp winter morning, as the sun rises over a solar carport in construction ☀️❄️

Even at the coldest time of year, solar continues to play a vital role in cutting costs, reducing carbon emissions and improving energy resilience. Well-designed solar carports generate clean power year-round, turning everyday parking areas into productive infrastructure without additional land use.

It’s a practical, visible step towards a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
