Last week, SolarSense joined leaders and representatives from across sport and leisure at the Green Goals Conference 2026 in Manchester.

Our Director of Sales & Marketing, Adrian Thomas, took to the stage to share some practical lessons from renewable energy projects delivered by SolarSense across the sport and leisure sector, including Freedom Leisure, LC Swansea, Cheltenham Lido Ltd and London Stadium.

Adrian's session explored a challenge facing many operators: how can essential community facilities reduce exposure to rising energy costs while continuing to make progress towards Net Zero?

A few key takeaways from the talk include:
🔸 Start with your highest energy-use sites to maximise impact
🔸 Look beyond rooftops, especially where car parks can unlock additional value
🔸 Match the right technology and funding model to each facility
🔸 Protect long-term savings through monitoring and proactive maintenance

A huge thank you to the Why Sports Media Group Limited team behind Green Goals for providing a space to engage in important conversations about the future of sustainable sport and leisure.

As Zoological Society of London (ZSL) celebrates 200 astonishing years, in Regent’s Park has embarked on an exciting journey to .

With support from the Climate Fund by Westminster City Council, and delivered by SolarSense UK | Certified B Corporation™, the first solar PV installation, located on the Community & Learning Hub, will generate enough energy to make the building self-powered while supporting ZSL’s wider decarbonisation goals.

As begins, the project demonstrates how conservation organisations, local authorities and clean energy specialists can work together to reduce emissions, improve resilience and inspire positive environmental action.

But this is only the beginning. Further solar PV and battery storage systems are already planned across the estate as part of an ambitious target to increase solar generation 16-fold by 2030 and achieve Net Zero by 2035.
