From Year 10 work experience to a Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship - Cameron Hendy’s journey with Four-Tees Engineers is taking an exciting next step.

Our Project Assistant has begun his degree apprenticeship at the University of Portsmouth, combining one day a week at university with four days working on FTE projects.

Since joining in March, Cameron has gained hands-on experience across project support, estimating, design processes, document control and fabrication. It reflects FTE’s commitment to giving apprentices broad exposure to our Intelligent Integration approach, helping them connect academic learning with real-world engineering and project delivery.

Four-Tees Engineers is proud to have supported the successful delivery of major engineering works at London Charing Cross and Waterloo East during the 22-day blockade, which enabled a £20 million programme of track, platform and structures upgrades.

Working alongside the SRE Volker Fitzpatrick team, FTE rapidly mobilised specialist project management and skilled installation teams to provide additional delivery capacity. Our work included platform litter-screen installation, steelwork completion around footbridge staircases and lift shafts, and repairs to footbridge cladding.

With more than 2,160m² of platform infrastructure renewed, 540 tonnes of existing material removed and around 90 tonnes of new steelwork installed, the blockade has helped strengthen Charing Cross for the future.
