The government has launched the Warm Homes Loan Scheme, with government-backed loans for solar panels, battery storage and heat pumps.

Installed last week, ready for the storms! ☀️🔋⚡

Our latest solar and battery installation in Wellington was completed just in time to give this customer some extra peace of mind before the storms arrived.

The system includes:

☀️ 12 × 485W AIKO solar panels, providing 5.82kWp of solar generation
🔋 A FoxESS EP12 Plus battery with 11.52kWh of storage
⚡ A FoxESS backup gateway, enabling backup power during a power cut

The solar panels generate electricity during the day, with surplus energy stored in the battery for use later. And if the grid goes down, the backup gateway allows that stored energy to provide power while the battery has charge available.

A tidy installation by the team, helping another customer take greater control of their energy bills and prepare for whatever the weather brings.

⚡ Storm Watch activated ⚡

With high winds forecast across the South West tonight, this Tesla Powerwall system has automatically charged to 99%, maximising the energy available for backup protection should the storm cause a power cut.

Tesla’s Storm Watch feature monitors severe weather warnings and prepares the Powerwall in advance—one of those clever features you may not think about until you need it most.

🔋 A big delivery for one of our commercial projects this week!

Two Solis EverCore battery systems have arrived and been lifted into position, bringing a combined 250kW of power and 522.4kWh of battery storage — over half a megawatt-hour! ⚡

Once commissioned, the systems will help the business manage peak demands, store cheaper electricity, and make better use of its existing solar generation!

👨‍🔧 Adam and the team have been hard at work on the cable ladder installation, preparing the routes for the cabling that will bring everything together. Plenty of work goes into an installation of this scale, and it’s great to see their efforts taking shape. 👏

We’re midway through, with more to share as work progresses. Look out for a full case study once the installation is complete!

Friday was another brilliant night for GreenGenUK at the National Energy Efficiency Awards! 🏆

We may not have quite managed to go two places better than last year, but we were delighted to receive a Special Commendation in the National Renewable Heat Installer & Contractor of the Year category.

And the biggest congratulations of the night goes to our Sales Manager, Elizabeth Sinikas, who finished 2nd in the UK for National Business Development Manager of the Year, among 13 other finalists! 👏

It’s fantastic recognition for the work Elizabeth has put in over the last year, and particularly rewarding given the award considers not just business growth, but customer outcomes, energy savings, community impact and the delivery of energy-efficiency schemes.

Incredibly proud of the whole GreenGenUK team for another strong showing on the national stage.

🏆 We have once again been shortlisted at the National Energy Efficiency Awards 2026 for National Renewable Heat Installer & Contractor of the Year.

After finishing 3rd nationally last year, we’re delighted to be back in the running and naturally, we’ll be hoping to go a couple of places better this time!

Another local solar and battery installation completed in Helston, only a short distance from our GreenGenUK HQ. ☀️🔋

This home energy system includes:

☀️ 9 × 490 W AIKO solar panels
⚡ 4.41 kWp of installed solar capacity
🔋 2 × Fox ESS EP12 Plus batteries
⚙️ 3.68 kW Fox ESS H1 G2 hybrid inverter
🏠 Fox ESS EPS home backup equipment

The solar panels generate renewable electricity during the day. Meanwhile, the batteries can store surplus energy for use later in the evening or overnight.

The homeowner can also charge the batteries with lower-cost grid electricity through a suitable time-of-use tariff. This provides greater control over when the property imports and uses electricity.

The Fox ESS backup equipment adds further protection during a power cut, subject to the inverter’s output and available battery charge.

Our team installed the inverter, batteries and backup equipment neatly together in the garage. On the roof, the black AIKO panels create a clean finish around the existing roof features.
