𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 are overused in CNC design.

We often see drawings where nearly every dimension is tightly controlled—when in reality, only a few truly need it.

The result?
Higher cost, longer lead times and 𝗻𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

➡️ A few simple rules of thumb:

• Use tight tolerances only on functional interfaces
• Relax tolerance on everything else by default
• Communicate clearly to manufcaturer your design intent early
