A poultry farmer spent an afternoon checking our solar proposal with ChatGPT. It came back matching ours exactly.

Robert Borrill of A M Borrill & Son can't set his own prices, so the brief was simple: cut energy costs and bring down standing charges.

The answer was a 116.25 kWp array with a 51 kWh battery, designed around timber-frame sheds and installed inside a ten-day biosecurity window between flocks.

Robert's verdict: "It's a no brainer really."

Our team on site, installing a roof-mount solar and battery system for A M Borrill & Son, a working poultry farm in Lincolnshire.

The system is designed around the site's actual electricity profile, using half-hourly meter data and the farm's own usage patterns. Timber-frame shed roofs called for a bespoke panel layout, and the install ran within a tight window dictated by the farm's biosecurity schedule between flocks.

Back at Blankney Estates.

Today, our team has been carrying out a robotic clean of the rooftop solar PV system at Temple Grange.

Installed by NerG in 2025, the system comprises 1,868 solar panels across the roof of the Estate’s grass drier building.

The project was designed to:

☀️ Reduce reliance on grid electricity
☀️ Improve energy self-sufficiency
☀️ Support Blankney’s carbon-reduction plans

Installing the system was only the beginning. Ongoing cleaning and maintenance help support the long-term care of the Estate’s renewable energy investment.
