MPTS 2026 marked ten years of the show β and one theme cut through more clearly than any other: 2026 is the year of the battery.
The Production Theatre hosted some of the most important conversations of the week, with mobile battery power, EV transport and the path away from diesel firmly at the centre of the agenda.
A consistent message from across the industry on LinkedIn this week:
π Productions are actively seeking flexible, practical alternatives to diesel generation
π EV transport workflows are coming in 30β40% cheaper than diesel equivalents
π€ Early planning, knowledge sharing and supplier collaboration are critical to adoption
π¬ Clean on-set power is no longer an aspiration β it's an operational requirement
Thank you to BAFTA Albert, April Sotomayor and Phil Holdgate for continuing to drive this conversation forward, and to everyone who shared their reflections on the week β including Screen Yorkshire, Media Cymru, Emyr Afan OBE, FRSA Potential Difference and many others.
At Allye Energy, the MAX300 is built for exactly this moment β a single unit that lowers production costs, decarbonises on-set power and supports full electrification, including EV charging.
This week we've also announced 400kW DC fast charging integrated into the MAX300, bringing rapid EV charging and silent on-set power together in one solution.
If 2026 is the year of the battery, productions deserve technology that earns its place on the call sheet β financially and environmentally.
