In this life you can earn more money but you can never get more time. Working for myself does have its hard parts but when you need that really important family time and need to do things you have no boss breathing down your neck or that big company who treats you just like another number with no value and when you need anytime off makes your life difficult. 6 years in business this october and hopefully many more 💪

THIS is the main reason I wanted to be self employed. Days like these. . My littlest's first day at school and I'm right in amongst it. Walking her down there. Where I should be.

Instead of getting home and asking my wife how it went and how she went in. I saw it myself. (She did amazing) my oldest starting year 1 too..

Not on some manky building site somewhere working for idiots who want to pay you nothing to break your back everyday.

The scaffolding is for your benefit not mine

I just read this comment on roofers ad who was sharing why his costs were at the level they were at on a particular job

He said in the ad … “The scaffolding on this projects was £1,200”

And the comment of “The scaffolding is for your benefit” blew my mind

This post isn’t about compliance or even about morality

But about your self worth

You do not need customers like this - you’re worthy of being safe

You deserve to be safe in your business

Your family deserve you coming home in one piece

That customer does not deserve you, your skills or service no matter what

Bathroom job with some final bits left to finish with painting, trims, skirting, door and a few small jobs outside. After 3 or 4 material set backs from b @ q with stuff we have had to dig deep to get it this far with all the set backs which was all out of our hands. I would like to thank the lads who have worked on my job so far MGB Plumbing&heating Alex Porter (sparky) Andrew Mudway (flooring) and Jewson Coleford for the materials i have needed.

I would like to thank all my great understanding customers the last few weeks it was not easy and to those who have sent some nice messages that went a long way. With the change in weather which after a lovely summer so not going to complain to much about that but some unexpected set backs over the last few weeks with material issues and some other stuff out of our hands it did put us behind schedule which has a knock on effect with other jobs and not just for myself but a few others who have done work on my jobs lately but here at R James Building we keep on going and keep on pushing doing the best we can for great repeat and loyal customers. Sometimes in life obstacles will land in your path but its how you move them out the way and move forward which is key. Thanks again and here is soon to 6 years in business if you read till the end 🤣💪

Hi guys ended up with around 40 people who messaged for the part time job which made it very difficult to pick and with busy times with work and family. I physically could not get back with you all so i am sorry if you did not get any response. After time to think it all over we have decided currently it might be right to leave it on hold for the time being and the position will be filled in due course maybe not on facebook as the response was way to much. Thanks ryan james.

Busy day. Fascia and soffit with all coat zinsser black x3 coats. Windows sandpaper and then ronseal woodstain x2 coats. Final prep and cleaning on stonework. Good wash down. Gutter all picked up from screwfix ready to fit. Then can start the pointing.
