We recently had the pleasure of attending a workshop for homeowners looking for colour inspiration for their front doors. The insight was amazing and reflecting back on our own door sales is really interesting:

- Our top 5 colours are Anthracite/ White, White/White, Black/White, Chartwell Green/ White, and Agate Grey/ White - no one on the course chose these colours.
- They favoured fun-loving pinks, two shades of a buttery spring yellow as well as bright teal, greens and blues. Retail sales maybe more reflective of this segment of the market, but leading the premium colour sales are the neutral shades of Clay, Mushroom and Clotted Cream.
- However, the most notable trending premium colour is Mulberry. Its rich purple certainly creates a warm and welcoming entrance to any home.

Colour is a huge opportunity and one we take very seriously. What’s key is having the options available to match any opportunity; whether your customer is looking to symbolise a fun-loving, optimistic and nurturing personality with Pink, create a sleek and stylish entrance with Anthracite, or make a memorable first impression to the home with greens, blues and deep purples. That’s why we have such a large range of standard, premium colours and the ability to match any colour.

Despite all the trends, Anthracite Grey remains our top selling colour, followed closely by Agate and Slate (all part of our Standard colour offering).

Why?

Because for many, Grey creates a sleek and stylish entrance for the ultimate kerb appeal.

Door colour can be subjective - some customers are looking to blend the outside with their interior design, some are looking to symbolise a fun-loving, optimistic and nurturing personality with Pink, or create a sleek and stylish entrance with Anthracite, or make a memorable first impression to the home with greens, blues and deep purples.

We’re seeing some interesting colour stats in our colour sales so far this year.

The front runners remain largely the same: Anthracite, Black, White, Chartwell and Agate Grey - all Standard colours that may be destined for delivery into the commercial sector, where price and consistency is more important than personalisation.

In the premium shades (where more retail sales look for kerb appeal), neutral shade of Clay, Mushroom and Clotted Cream are showing the biggest growth so far this year, alongside the rich, deep purple of Mulberry.

Our retail customers tell us that Blues are making a resurgence and demand for Rosewood / Irish Oak are strong in 2026.

Whatever the sector or demand, what’s important is to have the options available. That’s why we take colour seriously and run three separate paint lines and an automated staining line, supporting our customers with a ‘full paint’ or a ‘prep no paint’ service, modelled around what suits them best. We also go the extra mile with colour matching cassettes and drip bars, all part of our ONE product and service portfolio.

Access our flexible service and a large range of standard, premium or the ability to match any colour with DoorCo.

Mandy’s timeless entrance 🖤✨

The Eaton in Black with Jazz glass proves that classic design never goes out of style. Paired with gold hardware and framed perfectly by that brick archway… this one makes a statement before you even step inside. 🚪

Thank you to Listers and Elite Composite Doors Ltd for helping take our door to completion.

The marketing team recently had the opportunity to attend a colour-led design workshop alongside a small group of homeowners looking for inspiration and colour samples for their front door and home improvement projects.

Using mood boards, there was much discussion around what different colours mean and what they convey, and exploring ways of matching front doors to interior styles – and in some cases, the season. They love the thought of changing door colours every few months, which isn’t necessarily practical!

It was a fascinating, insightful day which highlighted a few key trends to look out for:

No one chose grey, cream or black

Fun-loving pinks, two shades of a buttery spring yellow as well as bright teal, greens and blues were favoured instead.

Creating a memorable first impression and a cheerful and welcoming entrance was the priority for everyone in the room.

We explore these trends further in the next edition of Total Fabricator magazine - check it out.
