Proud to continue our partnership with Punchestown as sponsor of the Specialist Group Novice Hurdle.

The festival once again proved why it’s one of the standout events in the racing calendar, and it was a pleasure to enjoy another fantastic day of racing and hospitality alongside our clients and friends of the business.

Last week, Specialist turned 38.

And as we marked another milestone in our story, we also closed out our 2025/26 financial year smashing our target of £55M Turnover.

Supporting communities and local sport has been part of Specialist from the very beginning — something instilled by John Bosco and still a core part of who we are today.

We’ve been proud to support Derry Camogie over the past number of years alongside ASM Accountants, and it’s been brilliant to see the continued growth and success across the teams.

This weekend marks a huge moment, with the Derry U16 panel taking to the field in the All-Ireland Final — a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.

We were delighted to welcome St. Pius X College Magherafelt 5th Year Technology class to HQ for an engaging factory tour on Friday.

Students explored key departments including, Marketing, Sales & Estimating, Health & Safety, Procurement and Design, before heading onto the factory floor to see veneering in action and meet our first-year apprentices.

A highlight of their day was hearing from former St Pius X students now working within the team, who shared their career journeys and experiences in the industry. Caoimhin Sheridan shared insights into his current apprenticeship project, Jack Costello spoke about his work on a high-end commercial project, and Francis Higgins, our Logistics Manager, discussed his career journey since leaving school.

The visit forms part of our Strive Programme, launched in 2025, which aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing hands-on learning experiences and supporting students on their path to future employment.

A fantastic day all round – we hope it inspired the next generation!

Mystery Reader - Year 5

In P5 we had a wonderful visit from Seamus Donnelly who works for Specialist Group. The children loved hearing his story and were full of questions.
They got to hear all about his line of work in joinery and metal construction.
Children were fascinated to learn all about his different skills, in and outside of working life. They learned about the importance of skills trade work, use of machinery and the enjoyment of getting out fishing.
Great to cover so many life skills and always important to have a healthy life and work balance.
Many thanks to Seamus for spending time with us today and helping to encourage the love of reading, working skills and having healthy habits. 😃 ⭐

Ger joins us on the shop floor every Wednesday, bringing great energy, plenty of laughs, and a real lift to everyone’s day. Over the past few weeks, he’s been making sure no one forgot his birthday was coming up this Saturday – so, we got in a little early and celebrated together today.

It’s always a joy having Ger with us, and he’s a big part of what makes Wednesdays so special. We hope you have a brilliant birthday, Ger! 🎈
