When it comes to getting a site moving again after a storm, having the right equipment in place makes the clear-up quicker and safer.
Storm Boelo brought severe gales and heavy rain to Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England over the weekend, following Storm Austen in the south at the end of last week, and many sites are starting the week with fallen trees, standing water and, in some areas, no mains power.
We supply the equipment for each part of the clear-up :
Chainsaws : battery and petrol models for clearing fallen trees and branches. Wind-blown timber can be under tension and move unpredictably when cut, so this work should be left to trained operators with the right protective equipment.
Water pumps : for clearing standing water from excavations, footings and low-lying areas, with hoses and accessories available too.
Portable power: battery, petrol and diesel options to keep tools and lighting running where mains power is down.
Site protection : to stop sediment-laden run-off leaving the site and reaching drains and watercourses.
With the Met Office warning of more unsettled weather to come, it is also a good time to check that this equipment is ready for the next spell.
