43 bags of rubbish.
That's what volunteers have already removed from an abandoned woodland right here in Plymouth.
But we're only just getting started.
McScience CIC wants to transform this neglected woodland into a thriving outdoor learning and conservation centre where children can learn, wildlife can flourish, and the community can come together.
Our vision includes:
• A permanent Forest School
• Outdoor science education
• Scout and Beaver activities
• Community volunteering projects
• Biodiversity improvements including a wildlife pond
• Native tree planting
• Alternative Provision for young people
• Home education support and exam facilities
• A sustainable woodland learning cabin powered by renewable energy
To make this happen, we need to secure the site through a lease, apply for planning permission and change of use, carry out surveys, and continue restoring the woodland.
We've launched a £10,000 fundraising campaign to help us take these first vital steps.
Every donation, share and message of support helps us move closer to creating something truly special for Plymouth.
Together, we can turn an abandoned woodland into a place of learning, opportunity, nature and hope.
If you'd like to support the project, please donate and share this post.
Be Curious, Not Judgemental.
