REAL (by Durviz, S. L.) and their Mini & Midi Faecal Parasite Collection (FPC) Kits.

The majority of FPC kits on the market at the moment include formaldehyde-based fixatives, which can be challenging to work with and more so to dispose of.

This is why REAL developed their own fixative, Total-Fix! This fixative has the same preservation activity as formaldehyde-based fixatives without formaldehyde, mercury or PVA.

The Mini & Midi also sport features such as:
✅ CE-IVD Mark
✅ Compatibility with follow-up molecular techniques
✅ 4ml & 10ml of fixative, respectively.
✅ Silicone seals to prevent leakages.
✅ Optional caps for sediment storage
✅ Two filters (400 & 250 microns) to separate debris from the sample without clogging.

CHROMagar C3GR Dehydrated Culture Media for overnight detection of beta-lactamase producing enterobacteria achieving third-generation cephalosporin resistance.

CHROMagar C3GR is a selective, and differential, chromogenic culture medium intended for use in the qualitative direct detection of gastrointestinal colonisation with third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Enterobacteria (C3GR-E) to aid in the prevention and control of C3GR-E in healthcare settings.

The medium (once prepared) can be directly inoculated using re**al swabs or stool samples from patients to screen for colonisation, with results available for interpretation 18-24hr after aerobic incubation at 35-37°C.

At BioConnections, we deal only with dehydrated media, some people may find this old fashioned, but we have some key points as to why you should still consider dehydrated culture media in your lab:

✅ Super long shelf-life (>1yr) when compared to pre-poured media.
✅ Room temperature storage, freeing up space in your cold room.

Erba Mannheim, MIKROLATEST MIC for antibiotic susceptibility testing!

MIKROLATEST MIC offers precise and quantitative determination of minimum inhibitory concentration of antimicrobial agents which inhibit growth of visible bacteria. Each kit is:
▷ Based on the rehydration of antibiotics by suspension media in individual wells.
▷ One kit contains 10 determinations.
▷ Each determination consists of 12 antibiotics in 8 concentrations and a growth control.
▷ Robust, water-free format, meaning kits can be stored ambiently at 2-25°C with a shelf-life of at least 12 months.

MIKROLATEST MIC can be read manually (visually) or automatically with an ErbaScan (using ErbaExpert Software). They also come in 2 formats, these being:
▷ 6 different panels to cover antibiotic susceptibility testing of a wide range of most pathogenic groups of bacteria
▷ 21 Single MIC Strips

BioConnections' Own Bench Reagents! That's right we do our own bench reagents for traditional microbiology. These can be used as a helpful guide in the early stages of microbiological identification, or as a definitive endpoint to classical identification.

AmplexDiagnostics GmbH, eazyPlex CSF Direct test line for rapid, direct detection of: HSV-1, HSV-2, VZV, N. meningitidis, S. pneumoniae, S. agalactiae, L monocytogenes, H. influenzae and E. coli from cerebrospinal fluid.

The CSF Direct test system is a qualitative in vitro diagnostic system of infectious agents from CSF, which can cause inflammation of the CNS. Ready to use, with minimal prep time, a quick diagnosis can be made in as little as 30 minutes.

An early diagnosis, and a quick start to treatment, for bacterial meningitis/ meningoencephalitis is very important, with the mortality rate sharply increasing if the start of therapy is delayed.

The eazyPlex CSF direct test range is available as a separate bacterial kit as CSF Direct V or Direct M. Each with their own specific targets to give you optimised parameter selection based on your needs.

CHROMagar RambaQUICK! For the rapid detection of Salmonella species including S. typhi, S. paratyphi and lactose positive Salmonella.

RambaQUICK is a selective broth, which combines the best functions found in conventional enrichments such as RVS and MKTTn broths. After the revivication phase in BPW, the Salmonella replicates at an exponential rate in the optimised RambaQUICK Salmonella broth. RambaQUICK offers not only a high nutrient environment, but also inhibits the growth of competitive flora.

Furthermore:
- Quick results (48h for negative/ 72h for positive)
- Simple (1 selective broth & 1 culture plate)
