I thought this might put things into perspective for some.
This is a 12 month old 420R with less then 3k miles on it but with about 10 track days under its belt.
The inner rear pad had worn through the friction material and then worn the backing plate so thin that it fell out of the carrier and proceeded to use the piston as a brake pad.
The standard rear pads in the Sierra calipers can wear fast and more on the inner pad than the outs so it's definitely worth checking them after a hard day on track.
