Morning rush at Nemo’s Garden 🐟🌱
If you’ve ever wondered what’s actually happening down there, here’s the short version.
Nemo’s Garden is a series of underwater biospheres where plants are grown beneath the sea. The idea is surprisingly simple: use the surrounding ocean to create the conditions needed for growing plants, rather than fighting against it.
Inside the biospheres, seawater naturally evaporates, condenses on the cooler surfaces and creates fresh water that can be used for irrigation. The surrounding sea also helps maintain a stable temperature and microclimate — much like a greenhouse, but underwater.
The system is powered by renewable energy, and the biospheres are designed to have a minimal impact on their surroundings.

The structures also function as artificial reefs, providing sheltered spaces where fish and other marine life can gather. So while the biospheres create an environment for growing plants, they also become part of the underwater ecosystem around them.
Agriculture, powered by the sea — and with the sea, rather than against it. 🌊
