🥰 A SPACE JUST FOR YOU 🥰
Let’s talk about master suites, because there’s a reason they’re probably one of the most common things people come to us wanting to add when they extend their home.It usually starts with something fairly simple. The kids are getting bigger, everyone is fighting over the bathroom in the morning, your clothes have somehow taken over three different cupboards and the bedroom you’ve had for the last 15 years is starting to feel a little less like a retreat and a little more like somewhere you go to sleep.
And then you start thinking... wouldn’t it be nice to have our own space?
Your own bathroom that you don’t have to share with the kids. A walk-in wardrobe where everything actually has a home, including the Christmas presents you’re hiding. Somewhere you can close the door at the end of the day, take a breath and not be surrounded by everyone else’s stuff. That’s what makes a master suite so appealing. It’s not necessarily about wanting something bigger or fancier. It’s about having a space that works for you too.
This one was for Jean, and hers had another consideration. Keeping the character of her mini villa was really important, while also improving the functionality of the space. So we took an existing room and turned it into her master suite, adding a bit of wow factor while making sure that it was in keeping with the rest of the house.
And that’s always one of our favourite parts of the job, seeing how people put their own personality into their homes. A master suite can be modern, traditional, simple, luxurious or somewhere in between. It really just needs to feel right for you and your home.
Because after years of making the house work around everyone else, maybe it’s your turn. 💛
