Mōrena, today we begin the process of moving into our planned winter outage for two months. We do this in order to divert our gas to the NZ electrical system during the high demand winter months. If you live close by, you might notice a bit more noise and traffic for a few days. We’re working to minimise any disturbance but if you have any questions please feel free to message us or give us a call. Thank you.

It was such an honour to attend the blessing of the New East Wing Building at Taranaki Base Hospital yesterday. Travelling through the building with our hapū and iwi leaders, and, especially walking through the Methanex Neonatal Unit on Level 2, was a very proud moment.

This is an exciting and important facility for our community and our whole team is absolutely thrilled to have played a part in creating this for Taranaki.

Congratulations to Isabel Paroli who has just been awarded the Methanex Women in Engineering Scholarship for 2026. Isabel is studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Auckland and has already earned a place on the Dean's Honours List.

We were so impressed by Isabel's strong academic record along with her key role in supporting other wāhine through their engineering training.

It was a pleasure to get to know Isabel through the application process and we can't wait to see what she does next.

Congratulations, Isabel!

As of next week, you may notice some work at the seaward end of our Motunui site as we prepare to remove our redundant MTG (methanol to gasoline) flare. The flare was established in 1986, back when our plant was producing gasoline. When we decommissioned the gasoline plant in 1997, we stopped using this flare and have only used our primary flare since. We're now going to be breaking down the redundant flare for removal. There will be cranes onsite from next week (weather permitting) with the entire process taking approximately two weeks. As with all of our projects, we'll be focused on doing this work safely and efficiently. If you have any questions, please email us on: [email protected]
