We have been notified of a number of instances where waterblasting was carried out on roofs containing asbestos.

In a recent incident, a residential property with decramastic roof tiles was waterblasted. Debris was found throughout the property and inside the home. Testing confirmed the roof tiles contained chrysotile asbestos, contaminating both indoor and outdoor areas.

This incident highlights the importance of identifying whether asbestos-containing materials may be present before starting work, particularly on older buildings.

Behind the scenes from a recent AMR mould removal site in Berhampore, Wellington.

These units were affected following the severe flash flooding in April, which led to moisture damage and mould growth requiring full remediation.

The process carried out by Kaleb and the team included HEPA vacuuming to remove loose contamination, application of specialist treatments through spraying and wiping down all affected surfaces, and the use of high-powered air movers to assist with drying and air circulation throughout the units.
