We’re Hiring: Specialist Works Manager – Whakatane Based
Waiotahi is looking for an experienced Specialist Works Manager to lead our Concrete and Minor Civil Works team.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and support crews
• Plan and coordinate work programmes
• Price specialist projects and assist with monthly claims
• Manage QA, testing, and compliance
• Keep sites safe, tidy, and running smoothly
• Build strong client relationships
• Work closely with the Contracts Manager on delivery and resourcing

What you’ll bring:

• Strong concrete skills, including formwork, placing, finishing
• Solid general building skills and practical site knowledge
• Class 1 licence + WTR
• Experience managing construction projects
• Good understanding of civil works
• Confident with budgeting, planning, and reading plans
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities
• Positive attitude and good judgement

• Valid Traffic Management qualification
• Full NZ Driver Licence (Class 4 an advantage)
• Able to pass pre‑employment drug & alcohol testing
• Previous traffic management and labouring experience

What an awesome moment today signing up Pou and Munro to begin their studies through Connexis as they kick off their construction career journey.

Pou and Munro first came to Waiotahi through the Rukuhia Te Mahi Programme, completing their work experience with us — and they absolutely shone. Their attitude, work ethic, and commitment led to full time permanent roles with Waiotahi, and now the next step in their careers begins.

Proud of these two and excited to see where this pathway takes them.
