Seventeen years ago today, we lost our founder, Gabe Greene.

Although he passed away in 2009, Gabe’s impact is still felt every single day at G. Greene Construction.

In 1966, Gabe had a big decision to make. He could become a Harvard police officer—or he could take a chance and start his own construction company as a carpenter by trade, with nothing but his tools, skill, and a strong work ethic.

He chose to build something of his own.

That choice became G. Greene Construction.

This year, as we celebrate 60 years in business, we reflect on the man who started it all. From the jobs we take on to the way we treat people, Gabe’s values are still at the core of who we are—work hard, be honest, and take pride in what you do.

This photo captures Gabe doing what he loved, fishing alongside his granddaughter, Shelby. It’s a reminder that his legacy lives on not just through this company, but through his family, his values, and the generations that follow.

We know without a doubt—Gabe would be proud.
Proud of the company, proud of the people, and proud that what he started continues to grow.

Thank you, Gabe, for taking that leap in 1966.
You built more than a company—you built a legacy.

Forever remembered. Always building forward.

At G. Greene, we believe that community impact is just as important as the structures we build.

We recently had the privilege of supporting Baystate Children’s Hospital by participating in their 2nd Annual Co****le Tournament, which aims to enhance the hospital environment and create a warm, supportive space for young patients and their families.

A huge thank you to our team members Richard Shearns, Project Executive, Daniel Cameron, Project Manager and Nicholas Chmura, Superintendent for stepping up to represent us on the boards.

Thank you to the Baystate Facilities Team for your incredible leadership and for creating such a meaningful way to give back! 👏✨

🚧💪 Safety is built through leadership, teamwork, and our daily commitment to doing the job right!

Our team gathered for Construction to reinforce practices that ensure our safety in even the most complex construction environments.

A huge thank you to , Milwaukee Tool, and for sharing invaluable insights on environmental safety, ergonomic tools, and jobsite best practices! 🙌

Peter DeSisto, our Civil Division VP, emphasized the importance of daily safety briefings and strong partnerships, while Sam Hrubec, our Civil Safety Manager, highlighted the need for focus and accountability in our diverse project areas.

For 60 years, G. Greene has prioritized trust, craftsmanship, and the strength of our team. Safety is more than a standard, it’s how we lead, how we work together, and how we build New England’s legacy. 🛠️❤️

We are currently in the middle of another great Safety Week at G. Greene! 🦺🚧

Today we held our annual Safety Week events at both our Hyde Park yard and Allston office, bringing employees together for a day focused on education, awareness, and reinforcing the importance of workplace safety across all divisions.

We’ve been lucky to have Milwaukee, the Crosby group, Milton Rents, Eversource and R.G Mearn join us to speak with our crews, demonstrate equipment, and share valuable safety knowledge with the team. We also added raffle prizes throughout the events to keep things fun and engaging.

To make this year even better, we brought in the Red Wing Boot Truck to both locations 👢🔥 Every employee got fitted and picked out a new pair of work boots — definitely one of the highlights of the day!

At G. Greene, safety is more than a policy — it’s a commitment to one another. Taking the time to educate, train, and invest in our employees helps ensure everyone makes it home safely at the end of every day.

We are also incredibly grateful to our Safety Team — J. Downey, Director of Safety; Joe Riggi, ASP, CRIS, Assistant Director of Safety; Sam Hrubec, Civil Safety Manager; and Peter DeSisto, Vice President, Civil Division — for their leadership, coordination, and unwavering commitment to creating safer job sites and reinforcing the importance of safety throughout every division of G. Greene. Their hard work and dedication continue to help ensure our employees make it home safe every day. 💪 💪
