Awarded by Columbus Business First, the Building Columbus Awards highlight new construction and renovation projects that showcase professional excellence in design, development and construction, and that have strong community impact through investment, jobs and revitalization.

Students and staff at 3 Westerville Elementary Schools are enjoying newly renovated kitchens! Our general contracting team upgraded kitchen facilities at Hanby, Hawthorne, and Whittier Elementary schools, ensuring the kitchens meet standards for efficiency and capacity.

Work included installation of new mechanical, electric, and plumbing systems to support new, advanced equipment. New flooring, walls, lighting and other upgraded finishes throughout to create more functional and modern spaces.

Our crews especially enjoy projects like these that support children and enrich our local communities. Congratulations to Luke Willman, Matt Schwertfeger, Rusty Richardson, Jimmy Johnston and the whole MM team for outstanding work on these 3 kitchen renovations.

Often invisible, yet critically important...

Some of the most impressive work in construction can’t be seen in a finished building, and our Caulking & Air Barrier Division's work is an outstanding example.

Special congratulations to Dennis Osborne, Todd Clary, and JD Ousley, for passing all four ABAA audits at the Pickaway Correctional Institution Housing Complex project, with zero demerits. This achievement reflects months of dedication, coordination, and exceptional craftsmanship in air barrier installation.

Projects of this scale and complexity require ABAA-certified contractors to perform the work and independent inspections by a third-party auditor.

Project leaders have praised this team for extensive coordination with framing, roofing, and MM Masonry trade partners to ensure critical building envelope details were executed correctly and efficiently at every stage.

What a week we've had -- not just building great facilities but also taking time to learn, improve ourselves and care for others!

In the past week you'd see MMers packing bags of food for local children in need, training on su***de prevention, and getting inspired at a business event where the message centered on personal resiliency, motivation, and having a champion's mindset.

We also achieved the gold level as we joined the Associated Builders and Contractors Health and Safety Alliance, a nationwide program measuring best practices in jobsite safety. We could not be more proud of all our teams this week!

We're wrapping up a major transformation for another client in manufacturing! It's a great story to tell during National Manufacturing Month, check out the project highlights...

Active Concepts Manufacturing Expansion & Facility Renovation:
• Multi-phase design/build transformation of 40,000sf facility
• Office, laboratory, warehousing, and production environments
• Specialized infrastructure for chemical and fragrance manufacturing
• Adherence to strict controls commissioning and testing
• Collaborative approach that minimized rework and change orders

For Active Concepts, Miles-McClellan completed a three-phase, design/build renovation project that transformed existing space into offices, a laboratory for quality-control testing, production and warehouse areas, and a specialized fragrance production facility equipped with tanks and chemical processing systems.

Through a collaborative approach, the team adapted to evolving project needs while maintaining quality and completing the first phase two weeks ahead of schedule.

The "Built To Lead" theme of today's Vistage Executive Summit in Charlotte was right on target for us! Our own company mission is "We build leaders and relationships", so this day of learning side-by-side with business leaders from across the community was an outstanding experience for our Charlotte Division President Timothy McClellan and Project Executive Grey London.

Thank you to Kurt Graves and to the Vistage Groups that participated and made today's event an incredible exercise in development and looking ahead, together.

Congratulations to Molly Coen and Matt Mackey for their recent promotions!

Known around Miles-McClellan as go-to project managers for problem solving and superb communication with clients and partners, Molly and Matt earn the trust of everyone involved in their projects. They each have excellent leadership skills, and have invested great effort into training teammates while simultaneously managing high-pressure, complex projects.

Molly Coen promoted to Senior Project Manager
In recent years, Molly managed a difficult historical renovation with several community stakeholders and major projects within a corporate office tower and a medical hospital tower. Now, she’s leading a multi-faceted, multimillion-dollar renovation at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

Matt Mackey promoted to Senior Project Manager
Matt Mackey’s work receives high satisfaction marks from every client, and over the past few years his dedication and talent drove his successful navigation of complicated projects for a large school system. Most recently, he’s helped build a strong partnership with large organizations in the healthcare and academic sectors.

This National Employee Ownership Month is extra special for our employees, because it's our first year as an employee-owned company! Matt and Tim McClellan led meetings recently to celebrate and communicate about how employee ownership fits into our values and ongoing success.

We also learned more about how ESOP accounts work and the exciting benefit they can provide in the future. MM employee owners from all divisions are proud to keep building momentum together!

Restoring a hospital building while it remains fully operational requires precision, ingenuity, and patient care at the center of every decision.

At the OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, Miles-McClellan removed severely deteriorated concrete slabs spanning four floors, above a cafeteria and next to the Labor & Delivery unit and surgery suites.

Instead of traditional demolition, the team precision-cut the concrete into more than 1,000 individual blocks and used custom shoring and scaffolding to safely navigate the challenging site. Our highly experienced team adapted its methods as they went, drastically increasing efficiency while upholding our safety standards.

The result was 280 linear feet of concrete and brick restored with no room closures, delayed surgeries or disrupted births.

What a great day for our annual fall family event! Human hamster wheels, a little zip lining, hayrides, a tricky corn maze, slides, some paintball, farm animals, all kinds of games and great food...we had a blast taking a break to smile and be silly. We love our MM families!
