There's no better way to understand what we do than to see it firsthand🔥 This week, some of the newer members of our corporate team had the opportunity to visit our A*Z Crowley site to get an up-close look at our processes and meet the people who make it all happen.

From surface preparation to the zinc kettle to final inspection, our team saw how every step comes together to protect steel for decades. More importantly, they got to connect with our galvanizing teams, whose expertise, pride in their work, and commitment to safety and quality set the standard every day.

The Perfection is in the Preparation💪

Before steel takes its dip into our galvanizing kettles, it has to be absolutely spotless. Any leftover oil, grime, or rust will block the molten zinc from bonding well. That's where the degreasing and pickling bath come into play!

🔵First, a hot alkali solution strips away dirt, oil, and grease.

🔵Next, a Hydrochloric acid bath dissolves mill scale and rust to reveal pure steel.

🔵Lastly, a zinc ammonium chloride rinse removes surface oxides and prepares the metal for a flawless zinc bond!

The result is immaculate steel ready for a molten zinc hot-dip bath to produce a finish that protects for a lifetime!
