We were honored to celebrate the recent grand opening of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Campus Expansion in East St. Louis, Illinois.
This transformative design-build project represents a significant investment in the future of the community, creating new opportunities for athletics, education, and hands-on learning. The expanded campus features a new turf football field, two sod football fields, a turf softball field, a sod softball field, the revitalization of an existing baseball field, a new soccer mini-pitch, and campus-wide parking and pedestrian improvements. The project also includes an innovative grow space designed to support agricultural education and sustainability, featuring a pressurized greenhouse, two hoop houses, and outdoor garden planting areas.
At the heart of the campus stands the 26,000-square-foot Innovation Center, a dynamic hub for learning and collaboration. The facility includes conference and office spaces, an expansive atrium, five classrooms, a science lab, a learning kitchen, a media room, an engineering lab, and multiple open-concept collaborative learning environments.
Together, these new facilities will empower students, families, and community members through expanded access to athletics, education, and experiential learning opportunities for years to come.
