Today marks the 30th anniversary of Jerry Holzinger being part of the Plocher Construction team! In honor of this incredible milestone, we would like to recognize Jerry for his dedication and leadership throughout the years.

Over the course of his career, Jerry has led countless successful projects, including the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center, John Davis Wrestling Facility, Prairie Farms Headquarters and now the Prairie Farms Expansion, Legacy Place senior living facilities, Sparta World Shooting Complex, Scott Air Force Base Office Buildings, Park North Golf Club, various Illinois American Water projects, multiple FCB Bank facilities, our very own warehouse, and many other local municipality improvements.

Jerry is known for his knowledge, determination, and loyalty. He takes pride in his work and is respected for the mentorship he has provided throughout the years. Thank you, Jerry, for the past 30 years of dedication to Plocher Construction. We are grateful for everything you have contributed to Plocher Construction’s success!

Plocher Construction has currently logged over 6,000 self-perform labor hours of concrete-related work across multiple key structures, including the Headworks Building, Oxidation Ditch Splitter Box, Oxidation Ditches #1 and #2, Sludge Pump Building, Clarifier Splitter Box, Clarifiers #1 and #2, Electrical Building, Control Building, UV Disinfection Basin, and Post Aeration Basin.

With significant masonry, structural steel, and equipment installation work still ahead, progress continues steadily toward completion. The Hillsboro Wastewater Treatment Plant remains on schedule to begin utilizing the new treatment plant in the summer of 2027!

The Eagle Award is a testament to the dedication of our employees, field crews, supervisors, and project partners who continue to prioritize accountability, teamwork, and ensuring everyone goes home safely at the end of the day. We are honored to receive this recognition and look forward to continuing to build safely and successfully together.

We’re proud to continue our partnership with Oaxaca, having delivered all three of their restaurant locations, including their first in Missouri at The Hub in Chesterfield.

This 5,000 SF restaurant features high-end finishes, had a total construction cost of $1.8M, and was completed in just 4 months. The space includes seating for 232 guests indoors and an additional 122 guests on the outdoor patio. Oaxaca celebrated their grand opening this month, bringing upscale Mexican cuisine and a top-shelf margarita bar to the area as part of their continued growth.

Progress continues at the Sanitary District of Decatur as we upgrade the final clarifiers and aeration tanks. This work includes removing and replacing clarifier mechanisms, upgrading distribution structures with stainless steel baffling, and installing key system components to improve efficiency. Our crews are also replacing 22 aeration tank gates, rehabilitating effluent channel gates, and completing piping and structural upgrades to support the new installations. We are proud to be part of delivering these critical system improvements.

The Kokosing Industrial and Plocher Construction Company Joint Venture will continue to build critical infrastructure in the St. Louis, Missouri area!

The partnership with Ameren Missouri will build the state’s first integrated natural gas and large-scale battery storage facility, Big Hollow Energy Center. This innovative, hybrid approach supports grid stability and Ameren Missouri’s commitment to reliable service, while effectively meeting customers’ increasing energy needs. The Kokosing-Plocher JV looks forward to building an 800-megawatt simple-cycle natural gas energy center, which will deliver rapid-response backup power to the community during periods of high demand in the years ahead.

Progress in well underway at the Nectar Avenue subdivision in East St. Louis. Our crews are hard at work providing the infrastructure, concrete crawl spaces, and patios/driveways for this 16-home community. With each phase completed, the vision for Nectar Avenue comes more clearly into focus. We’re on track to welcome residents by the end of summer and look forward to seeing this neighborhood continue to come to life!
