K&L's marketing guy, John Goldsmith, stopped by Thursday morning to guest on the Small Town Big Business Podcast. The program is recorded in a studio at Ethos@The Citadel, the same building our Marion satellite office is located. John was interviewed by Russell Williams and Jennifer Olson. A fun chat about construction, economic development, not-for-profits, and encouraging the next generation of workers.

Kids and construction equipment. What could be more entertaining for a youngster? K&L is prepping the site for Immaculate Conception School's new Pre-K playground. Might there be a future construction worker in this crowd? :)

K&L was a Gold sponsor of the Global Aerospace Summit held at the Regency Conference Center in O'Fallon. This two-day event is coordinated by the St. Louis Regional Freightway and Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois. We also had a booth at the summit.

Korte & Luitjohan Contractors welcomes Tanner Zbinden as our new Project Engineer. A native of Highland, Tanner graduated from SIU-Edwardsville with a Bacherlor’s in Industrial Engineering. He previously worked as a project manager for EFI-Solutions and as a field technician for SCI Engineering. His first day at K&L was Monday, August 3.

We’re celebrating National Intern Day here at K&L. Established in 2017, this day is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating interns, our future leaders. This summer, K&L has two interns – Kailen Mulvihill (l) and Jacob Noll (r). Project Engineer Grant Linton (c) gave each a candy bar and told them to get back to work. 😉 Truthfully, these guys have been great to work with!
