County fairs are all about bringing communities together, and we were glad to spend time at the Elkhart County Fair alongside the Elkhart County Soil and Water Conservation District!

Our team enjoyed talking with fairgoers about the Elkhart County Water Quality of Life Manual and sharing how simple, practical stormwater practices can help protect local waterways and improve water quality throughout Elkhart County.

Thank you to the Elkhart County SWCD for partnering with us and helping connect residents with resources that make a lasting impact.

A few of our staff and interns recently had the opportunity to tour the Henry Street Bridge construction project, getting a firsthand look at the progress and learning more about the construction process from the project team.

Site visits like these are a great way to connect what we do in the office with what's happening in the field while giving our interns valuable exposure to projects in construction.

Our Utility Coordination team recently stepped away from their desks for a team outing, spending the afternoon go-karting before grabbing a bite to eat together! Taking time to connect outside the office helps build the relationships that make day-to-day collaboration even better!

On Monday, BF&S welcomed project partners for a "Bowl Raising" event to celebrate the placement of the elevated water storage tank bowl for Lebanon Utilities in the LEAP District. It was a great opportunity to watch this impressive feat of engineering come together and recognize the incredible teamwork that made it possible.

The scale of the structure is just as impressive, with approximately 450 tons of structural and reinforcing steel, supported by more than 2,400 tons of concrete in its foundation and pedestal, and when complete, it will hold approximately 8,300 tons of water.

Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this milestone!

Happy National Intern Day!

We celebrated our interns from across Indiana with a lunch yesterday at our Indianapolis office, recognizing not only their contributions but also the mentors who have invested their time in mentoring, teaching, and creating meaningful opportunities for them.

At BF&S, we believe internships should be more than observation or paperwork. Our interns gain hands-on experience, work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real projects, and see firsthand what it means to engineer better communities.

Thank you to this year's interns for your enthusiasm and hard work, and to our mentors for helping shape the next generation of engineers, surveyors, planners, and professionals. We're proud of all you've accomplished together!

Our annual BF&S Family Day was held this weekend at Turkey Run State Park - filled with horseback and pony rides, hiking, swimming, playground adventures, co****le, and a delicious lunch together. Most importantly, it was a chance to spend time with the people who make the BF&S family so special.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a wonderful day!
