Check it out. This picture is a screenshot of the solar monitoring app for the solar array that I installed last year. At the bottom there is a place that shows “backup power” and 2,962. That is how much power is being used by everything connected to my inverter. Those things are a 3 ton Mitsubishi ducted system, a 6k btu mini split for my master bedroom, my water heater, hot tub, and some other miscellaneous things.
I took this screen shot at about 4pm today when it was 92 degrees outside. I definitely had the 3 ton central system and a mini split running. Even if those were the only components drawing power, they are both only using 2,962 watts! To put that into perspective, that is about the same amount of power as 1.5 hair dryers running!! You just can’t beat the efficiency and comfort of a Mitsubishi system.
