Today was all about helping our clients turn ideas into real-world selections.

We spent the day looking at appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and flooring showrooms so they could see products in person, compare finishes, and get a better feel for what their future kitchen will look like. While samples, drawings, and renderings are a great starting point, there's something different about seeing and interacting with products firsthand.

In fact, one of the showroom visits led to a change in part of the kitchen design. After seeing a similar feature installed in person, our clients were able to better visualize how it would function and look in their own home. That's one of the biggest benefits of these field trips—sometimes seeing something full-scale can either confirm a decision or inspire a better one.

Making great progress on this bathroom remodel.

One of the biggest reasons this project has moved so efficiently is that all of the major decisions were made before construction began. The layout was finalized, materials were selected, and every detail was planned out in advance.

Today is plumbing day on this bathroom remodel.

At this stage, we're relocating the tub drain, shower plumbing, and toilet location to match the final design. While it may not be the most exciting part of the project, it's one of the most important. The rough plumbing has to be installed in the exact right location so that the finished space looks intentional—fixtures are centered, layouts are balanced, and everything lines up the way it was designed.

Throughout construction, we reference the drawings and renderings developed during the design phase to verify dimensions and fixture locations. This helps ensure that what is being built in the field matches the plan and that everything from the tub and shower to the vanity and lighting ends up exactly where it should.

Whenever possible, we also prefer to replace existing plumbing components rather than tying into aging materials. If we're investing in a brand-new bathroom, we want the systems behind the walls to have the same life expectancy as the finishes going in front of them. It's an approach that helps reduce future maintenance concerns and gives homeowners confidence that the remodel is built to last.

One question homeowners often have during larger remodels is what happens to the attic insulation when ceilings need to be removed.

Before demolition begins, we vacuum out and remove the existing blown insulation to help keep the workspace cleaner and prevent insulation from falling throughout the home during demo. Once framing, electrical, drywall, and finish work are complete, new blown insulation is installed back into the attic space.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes parts of remodeling that most people never see, but it plays an important role in keeping the project clean, efficient, and properly rebuilt from start to finish.
