Our director Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh will be giving a UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center Research Seminar discussing the current prospects in Gynecologic Oncology research as the field advances and expands to meet the clinical need.

Dr. Memarzadeh’s talk will be on Thursday May 28th 12-1 pm via zoom. The talk is only open to UCLA faculty, staff, and students.

Congratulations to our undergraduate researcher Claire Li on her acceptance to the 2026 Undergraduate Research Center-Sciences Summer Program. The URC summer program funds undergraduate researchers interested in pursuing a PhD, allowing them to participate in research full time over the summer.

Claire is excited to spend her summer researching gynecologic oncology and participating in leading edge research targeting these malignancies.

In collaboration with Dr. Jasmine Zhou and an incredible team of UCLA scientists, our director has published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences a new low-cost blood test to detect and monitor many diseases including ovarian cancer.

The test could offer a powerful and more affordable approach to early disease detection and comprehensive health monitoring.

We are excited to share our recent publication with Dr. Evan Abt in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences presenting a potential new strategy to target aggressive cancers, including ovarian carcinoma, with RB1-loss.

Researchers have uncovered a hidden weakness in some of the deadliest cancers, revealing a potential new strategy for targeting tumors that have long resisted treatment.

In collaboration Dr. Yvonne Chen, we have recently published a very exciting paper in Science Translation Medicine testing a novel CAR T cell therapy to target ovarian cancer.
